Changed my gearing from 21/49 to 24/49 today. Using some of the FAQ info and some helpful advice from Ulmer I was able to do this without draining the oil tank although it would be easy enough with the Viper EZ oil drain.
Filled the case with my special sauce blend of Cenpeco gear oil and Transynd ATF. The Cenpeco has temp tac so it likes to stick to parts when cold. the ATF helps to thin things down a bit. Hoping to added the bearing wear on the upper gear.

They geared the RTX LE down for the big lug track. Top end is poor at best.. A couple of guys from PA had theirs regeared to the same 24/50 that the other sleds had and it seemed to help without spoiling the low end. Time will tell I guess. I think they had inconsistent results, but I think the one key was that they saw improved MPG.

I average 13 with my ltx dx with the 1.6 ice cobra that I had swaped in , it's hard for me to stay off the flipper, but I am hoping the td venom clutch kit improves that a bit. They geared the RTX LE down for the big lug track. Did my re-gear yesterday, what a PITA. I wasn't thrilled with the chain tensioner and not sure how I wanted to adjust it so I ended up 1 turn out from hand tight. I ended up draining and pulling the tank and also the lower plastic which added a little time to the job but gave good access. All said and done it was just over 3 hours to do the swap.

I have the same machine I love the low end of it and the fact that it can lift the skis with ease, I can't really see me regearing mine. My last sled was a 440/700 sno pro mod so i'm used to the lack of top end. But some days I miss the top speed my old srx had but then I stop on the side of the trail in a bit of deep snow, pin it and do a big long wheelie, smile and forget all about it again lol.

We'll see how things work out with the regear, I can always change it back if I don't like it. Hopefully I'll have my cake and eat it too.
There was a little wear on the bearing, but not much. New one is coated plus my oil cocktail should help.

I have the same sled with the Trail Turbo and I really like the Low Gear Power from Corner to Corner. I don't mind that it only tops out at 94 mph. Nobody beats me out of the hole or to 90 mph!! Plus not being able to go 100+ mph keeps me a little bit more out of trouble!

Did you have to do the chain with that gear combo ? I may change gears yet this season, but I got the primary and secondary machined so imma see way it does , best I saw last year was 95 or so but that is with a turbo ... Hoping for 100 mph with stock gearing ...
Let me know how it works out- as I have a 41 tooth gear may try that but I think
Your combo would work better

I feel the same way about the top speed, it would be nice to eliminate that lag from 70 to 90.I have the same sled with the Trail Turbo and I really like the Low Gear Power from Corner to Corner. The secondary has been machined for the 8DN Belt, It's the MPI Turbo, It it also Ulmer's Clutching, Allen did the actual install for me and dialing everything in. I am also running the light weight MPI silencer.Did you do any clutch machining ?? Why turbo you running ? I got the hurricane setup - jut curious , you see 94 even in the soft snow ?
