Dealer just dropped mine off this morning, girlfriend sent pics...cant wait to get home and check it out!!

Hey Johnboy Don't let us idiots scare you away. There are some of us here that just cannot leave things alone. I can tell you that I have ridden all 3 lengths and bought an XTX for a sled with an uncoupled skid and on/off trail capabilities but I would not recommend it for a pure trail guy. There are guys on here that have them and love the XTX on the trails I just find it a bit unruly the way I ride.
The LTX has great balance. The shocks are a bit overvalved for some but the handling is beautifull and steering is light. The XTX is ok on the trails in its stock form but with a bit of power added has its skis in the air almost all of the time and if you ride hard will push in the corners. The shorty actually was spinning the track on launch but other than that reminded me of my old RX-1 days untill I got to a corner and it actually went through it with 2 skis on the ground.

...... I looked at a 15 Apex XTX today thinking I should just trade and take a loss and buy the Apex to save me having to do a lot of extra things to the Viper.
SERIOUSLY? Without even giving it a chance?

you probably bought the right sled if all you want to do is trail ride I'm still leaning towards the cat turbo rode one last year and loved it someone quoted miles of smiles and another guy had the Viper told me he could hold off the cat turbo to 50 or 60 to me that is not even a race getting harder and harder to find someone to do a 3 second race except the women and kids lol

You will love the gas and go Viper. Quite honestly the performance stuff adds enough to beet the stock in a race BUT does not mean the stock is a BAD SLED.
Honestly I traded in an XTC and Apex both with high miles, one exhaust and clutch work other stock loved both, wonder why I do some of this stuff. Lol
This is a great sled stock~ 3% faster with cheap mods like most of us do".......now Turbos are a whole different thing and price range.
My 2 cents it is a great sled stock and some of us don't know when to leave well enough alone"................don't let my wife see this post or I will have to deny it and blame an impersonating hacker .

Whoops, disregard the above post. Still not use to the new format. Thanks for the replies, I am satisfied after hearing everyone's comments that I should be happy with the Viper LTX-DX. Buddah I came close to switching before I gave it a whirl. Didn't want to lose valuable riding time. See you on the trail this year.

FWIW, I'm coming off of an '11 Apex XTX onto the '15 LTX-DX, and am really looking forward to it!
I know I'm giving up some top end, but I'm not a lake runner, I'm a 100% Trail Rider.
I realize I won't be the first one across the lake, but I"m ok with that. 90-95 mph is more than enough.

Speed junkie here. First season was stock. This sled is fun, predictable, and of course the torque you expect from yamaha. Like anything, learn it you will love it.
