Viper update

I have one video of the viper and xf running however I do not have a YouTube account. I tried uploading it here but was not able to do that either. Could not convince my dad to come with his apex. The video is just taken with a cell phone in one hand and wide open throttle in the other so quality isn't that great lol there was only 2 of us there so nobody to video or hold a radar gun. Will have more people around next week when we start with the clutching and will have a stalker radar set up as well as a stock viper running against the clutched viper just to better compare what is working best. Is it possible to upload videos here and if so how?

Set up a Youtube account, it takes about 2 minutes! ;):D

Yeah I know, go take my own video if it's so easy right? :whine:

That was the D&D xf8000 with the riot pack. 167hp on dyno. That sled was not studded either. The viper with me on it would stay right beside that sled for a few hundred feet then the 800 would pull away. The 800 would pull away from the viper about like the viper would pull away from the 7000. It was def faster but for having 30 more hp Than the viper I was still very impressed with how the viper compared. That sled was also clutched perfectly.

Here is my viper and the 7000 we were testing

This is great stuff and very encouraging. Whats your opinion on stock clutching? Do you have enough mi on to make clutching worth it?

Stock clutching feels good. The more runs we did the higher my rpms kept getting. Have roughly 65 miles now. Sweet spot on a totally stock viper is right around 8500rpm. The nytro ifi remember correct was around 8800 so there is some difference there. By the end of the day I was peaking at around 8700. The 7000 was running 8900 so that's def gonna need clutching. The belts on both were starting to show the need to be tightened. Mine with 0 miles on it already had the belt right flush with the top of the secondary so I knew with some miles it was gonna need to be tightened anyways. All stuff that will be taken care of when the clutching starts. There is certainly room to gain on the mid range of the viper tho even tho it seemed to have very good power already and gettin the rpm back down and getting studs will make it even more of a blast.

I think more you run it higher rpms will go. I was told Nytro was also 8500 rpm stock clutched to full potential by NosPro. Friended you on Facebook.Steve Spiering. Awesome vids!

Just seen that. Noticed you are from TA motor sports? My father bought his 09 apex er from their a few years back. First time he ever used eBay and decided he was gonna buy a $9000 sled lol. If I remember right it was a dealer demo. Candy Apple red apex. Had it shipped to us in upstate NY.

Good stuff thanks for sharing. Also as we all know the more miles the faster the 4s gets. :sled1:

Husky photo is great too, they love to pull those sleds.
