18 Viper. I like the ride, but I want more ski pressure. Front springs, limiter straps, what and how do I get more ski pressure?

Reduce the center preload on the spring.

Can you explain? There are no settings on the spring, so depending on where it is now, how do I gauge how much to reduce? Also, you mean front spring in rear correct?

Measure the spring and then reduce the spring tension by 1/4"
I am talking about the center shock or the front shock on the read suspension.

Shortening the limiter strap would also add ski pressure.

It sure would but if you go that route you will limit the fall out in bumps and the spring preload may be to much.

There is no extra holes to adjust the strap anyways. I will try to release springs in front. Unsuccessful so far, those nuts are welded on for f sakes.

you have to break the jamb nut loose. I use a long flat screw driver and hammer.

X2, try and write down any changes you make and the effect they have. This will help you dial in the sled for what you want. Don't forget, trail conditions will always effect handling, rider input can usually compensate when necessary. It sure would but if you go that route you will limit the fall out in bumps and the spring preload may be to much.

And keep in mind if you are running Stock Tuner Skis they will never turn in powder. Ditch the skis before you do anything.

My exact thought when I seen the title, most people seem to want less ski pressure than stock, the only reason to want more is if they were running the tuners on anything but firm packed trail. All the 14's with the cat skis had the front end glued to the trail and most lightened the ski pressure. Yamaha wanting more Yamaha on the sled decided to stick tuners on the 15+ Viper which is a great ski for only one condition, no darting on firm/hard pack trails, anything else and they suck. Several other "jack of all trades, master of none" skis on the market that perform a lot more consistent in all conditions. And keep in mind if you are running Stock Tuner Skis they will never turn in powder. Yamaha also loosened the center shock spring in a attempt to make the junk Tuners work so they made a sled with skis that dont turn heavy front from compensating and those who dont know hate their sleds because of it.
