Sorry sj I do not have any input on 136". I am a short track rider only, 136" is too much length for me.

Aint that the truth.............. ;)!

with those little BB gun arm's of yours, I can understand why.......... :moon:

When we ride tomorrow all your going to see is the back of that 136..

A vote for Cat skids here. My 2000 136 mountain T-cat skid has really transformed my 03 RX1. This is the third year on it with absolutely no problems. It's sprung from the factory for the weight of the RX1 and rides incredible compared to the no-action. I can dangle the skis in the air for 750ft if I so wish. Incredible holeshot. I leave sleds with the mono in the dust. Way better attack angle too.

sounds like a nice setup...how hard was it to find and setup?

sj,
I found it on Snow west. I just put up a wtb post and had a few offers. The one I got came from Wahington ST. $400.00 with 400 miles on it. Looked brand new and now it's polished. I added the billet overload adjustable spring blocks. ACT shocks that are in it have been great. On slow or smoother rides i set it on the lowest setting. I weigh 180 without gear. When I'm riding with some of my crazier friends I crank it up to the second setting and will only occaisionally bottom on the very large g-outs. I have yet to use the overload setting and if the trails are that messed up I wouldn't want to be on them anyway. lol I'm not a mechanic but I have done every mod on my sled including this one. Not bad at all to install.

that's great...any other replies of ones like that?

I have an 06 Crossfire sno Pro 700 skid in an 06 Apex Gt.

I beat it like it owes me money, and it has yet to fail me. Once I got it all

dialed in to my liking it has performed flawlessly. It took a few weekends

to get it all sorted out, but I haven't touched it since. Even the sno pro

shocks are valved a little weak for the heft of the Apex and my not so

stealth 245 lbs sans gear.

I received a BOAT LOAD of information and moral support from AHICKS,

He is very wise and uses a very commonsense type of approach to

suspension tuning.

I have spent the last hour trying to figure out how to attach a photo, so if

anyone is interested, e-mail me at mike.kroener@hotmail.com and I will

send photos...

Like most I would probably prefer a ZX2 or an Expert X, but I am just too

tight fisted to let all the $$ through my fingers. I enjoyed the engineering

time with this project and my total investment including a couple new

wheels, an anti-stab kit, brackets, etc.....was ~ $700

ZX2 and forget it. Look at MDKUNI if that isn't a testament to durability I dont know what is. Plus it performs like no other skid and I have had a few!

My 06 apex is awful lose in the back..not so bad on hardpack...but terable on lose snow.
Do you think the zx2 would help with that?
Other then that I have no complaints with the mono...great on the stutter bumbs...I never bottom...I only weigh about 150...I have it set to my weight...I had to take the BB spring out of it..guy before me had put it in.

I'm sick of buying Yamaha's with glass skids - Is there anything that holds up better, and for ALLOT longer? What you got?

OR Am I just too hard on my suspension and this request is simply not possible? :o|

Now doubt about it, ZX2 is the way to go.
With my mono I had somewhere around six major failures in 10,000 miles. With the ZX2, in 11,000 miles I have had zero major failures and am still on the first set of hyfax.

you have 11000 miles on your hyfax?? are you serious?? Thats incredible.
Did you lose any speed with this skid? Thanks

The 136" ZX-2 holds up just excellent, me and my friend ran 8700 kms or 5500 miles without problems, both sled turboed mine at 280+ HP and my friends at 300+ HP. Don't know of any top end loss, still running out of gear with the ZX-2. Have just installed a 25T top gear.
