I've been searching the web trying to find pictures of the very rare Yamaha Racing Sleds from around 1974. They were a unique looking SRX433 that the facory had made for guys like Ed Schubitzkie, Mike Trapp, Lynn Trapp, and Wayne Trapp. I dont think more than 4-6 of them were made. They utilized a lot of titanium and magnesium, and were worth about $20,000 each. Once in a great while, you see a picture of them surface. The real Yamaha fanatics will know the exact sled that I'm talking about. They made them for oval racing just before they abruptly pulled out of oval racing in the 1974 season. E-mail me with any pictures if you have them. (sdorozyn@twcny.rr.com) Thanks!!!!!!!

For christmas I baught my father a book "Best of SnoPro 1973-1978" a book all about old oval racing sleds. He enjoys the book, reminds him of his youth years. haha. Anyways I believe we baught the book threw Shadetree powersports, they have a website www.shadereepowersports.com.

That sled also had a single layer of CARBON FIBER,thats right carbon fiber in the hood.Saw the article in snow goer canadian edition last fall. :ORC

I'm not a die hard yamaha fanatic (yet) but I knew what you were talking about.
Couldn't really find any more pics like this but I'll post a couple sled links soon.
I became hooked on oval racing as a kid when I went to the World Series in Weedsport,N.Y. in 1977.Went and saw Billy Carter at races in Boonville and met Bobby Donahue in Saratoga,NY when he won Sno-pro race there (78?).

That was it all it took and I started racing in 1980.

There are more pics and info in the book Best of Sno-pro 73-78 -what yamaslob was refering to.Snowtech sells the book and has others.Check their magazine for an ad or the website.

I just received the book in the mail.
It is absolutely awesome, and has tons of colored photos. I'm probably going to buy Volume I and Volume III. Great Book!!!!!!!

I found back when I first bought my computer in 2001, 2 pictures of them sleds. One picture has Ed schubitzke, that japan racing guy , and a nother guy. The other picture has the #20 & # 30 sled sitting there. I'll have to have someone coppy them then I can post them on here.

MYy brother has one of them, SR 433, he widened the front ski's out on his back 40years ago and painted it black. I'll have to take some pictures.
