I have disconnected most of my handlebar electrical stuff and now am getting a Code 3 warning signal. Does anyone know what sensor this is referring? The manual shows the code flashes but doesn't tell you what it indicates!!!

IF you are sure you reconnected everything ok. Take the negative post off the battery for 30 mins then reinstall. This should reset the brains in the sleds puter. If not phone your dealer and ask him then you know where to start looking.

That's it. Thanks. I actually pulled the heated grips off and the heated throttle. So, maybe I just have to live with it, eh?

There's 2 short leads near the base of the OEM bars, if you connect those together, you'll short the warmers.

Check your owners manual...theres a section that explains the codes.

4fighter, I had the same problem with my 03 shorty when I went to cat bars and cat grips. I installed a 4 ohm resistor between the 2 wires you mention. Question. You say we can just connect them together and it wont fry anything?? Seems like it would dead short that circuit? Right, wrong? I'd like to ditch the resistor if I can, but I worry about frying something. Where would the electricity / heat go that's being pumped through those wires? Anyone else tried shorting these wires and had any luck at not frying your electrics?
