Can't get my warrior to start. I have never had an issue no matter what the temp before. Now she just turns. Sometimes she'll fire and run at idle for a few secs or she'll just backfire. Any ideas?
I'm with maim on this one. Check to see if you've gassed up the oil, because if you have, your compression drops and you won't get it going, new plugs or not. If your oil is "gassy", change it AND the plugs, as the plugs probably fouled along the way as well. Good luck!
OK I checked the oil and it doesnt seem "gassy." I pulled the plugs and checked the spark. They were a little wet so I dried them. The spark looks decent and its blue not yellow. Still same result. Nothing at all until I crack the choke then she'll backfire. I am at a loss. Should I cut the fuel off and try to burn out any residual fuel? NOt sure why it would be flooded either. Ran great last time I rode her now dead as a doornail
A freind of mine rode his 04 Warrior on a Saturday and Sunday we went to start it and it did the exact same thing you are describing. It was very cold that Saturyday night. It was a low battery. We hooked up one of those baterry packs and it instantly jumped to life and idled and ran normally. For the rest of the day it ran great. With the symtoms we never expected it would be that. Give it a try and see what happens.
Maybe your pilot jets? mine ran pretty similar ran like crap on the low end ran ok full throttle but could'nt get er over 8500 cleaned the carbs good as new.
First, try a new set of plugs. If it doesn't help do as Convert says and check the pilot jets. This happened to me as well, with dirty pilots it won't run.
