Just wanted to throw this out there, not sure if anyone else has had this happen. I was removing my helix to install my washers to help with the coil bind, and when I was loosening the nuts I had the stud spin out freely. Inspected the threads on the stud and there is no Loctite on them at all. I think I am going to pull the other 2 studs out and re-install with red Loctite or something, I have never had them come out like that while removing the helix nuts. Does anyone know what these studs should be torqued to?

Here's a pic

Ya this is the stud that's bolted into the secondary and that nut is the nut that holds the helix on. When taking the helix of the whole stud spun out

Wow never had a helix stud come out like that. I guess anything is possible, and it looks like clean with NO loctite.

At least that is an easy fix to loctite it, and maybe we should all check this.

I got mine all apart at moment so will surely check this out.

nice catch and thanks for showing this,
Dan

tempted to use the green loctite retaining compound for those.

I had it one time years ago with an SRX, I double nutted it, sunk it back in tight, and never had a problem again. That was a race sled so that secondary was apart a lot which may have had something to do with it. I would put it back in with a couple drops of loctite and not worry to much about it.

What model did you buy?

Happened to me also.
I just loctite them back in and have not come out since.

I've replaced the rollers on all three of the winders that I run with. Every time I had atleast one stud spin out some.

So Ben very careful and I would recommend medium strength loctite not red.
