Been a long while since I’ve posted on here.

Was about to do my oil change today and I noticed there was some coolant on the frame. After warming it up I can see a drop of coolant on the lowest screw that hold the two halves of the pump together.

I’m guessing the pump needs replacement.

Any tips or tricks?

I’m guessing replacement of the pump is better than rebuilding it?

Seems like it should be a fairly simple job of removing the oil tank and rad.

Hi how are you?
Could you take some pics when you do it? I only took one off that engine I had. So not any help for you. There is a chance that the packing seal just dried out over summer. Might try just changing coolant and seeing what happens.

I’m doing well, just been spending more time with my other project a 78 Triumph Spitfire.

From the looks of the pan it was dripping last year too so I’m guess the seal failed.

I’ll post photos.

Awesome! How many miles you have on now? If you want I could take pump apart if you would need to see anything. If I remember right it came off in one piece. Kindof separate from engine rather than built in. Such a cool engine!
