Rode the Viper last week and loved it. Been calling every Ski Doo dealer around all week looking for a demo ride and finally got one. Going go demo a 1200 gade after work tonight. Still on the fence between short track or 137" but at the moment leaning towards the short side of the fence because its all I've ever had. Hopefully one or the other will be snow checked tonight. Wish me luck.
Went long track in 2007 and can't think about going back. Good luck with a hard choice!

I am demo riding the viper sunday and will snowcheck on monday. I am also up in the air. 129 or 137. I also have only owned shorties. Hope they have both to test.

I have always had short tracks too ,,so the 129 will feel like a long track to me....well a fun on the ride and good luck and I'm sure you will make the right choice!!!!!!

Wish they were back to back rides but I think I can make a fair comparison. Wouldn't it be nice if our local dealers could pick one location and a couple days so we could ride them all on the same course same day. Just have people sign up for a scheduled day and time and go ride. Would sure make the decision easier for me. I've owned every brand but cat and hold no I'll feelings towards any of them. That's why I'm giving the doo a try before I order. Got to keep an open mind.

once you go long track you will NEVER go back to a 121" sled. With the snow we got this winter my little 80HP Phazer is going places that my 121" buddies can't touch since they REALLY need to keep the speed up or they sink and get stuck. A 136-144" skid sled is perfect for Minnesota if your a "do it all" type rider like me.

I'm mostly a groomed trail runner, not much off trail riding unless its ditch banging. The longer track appeals to me for the rough conditions we sometimes encounter but I don't want to give up that razor sharp handling. Tough decision
Groomed trails will get rough on a 121" long before a 136". How smooth do your local trails stay?

Really depends bottle here in the valley if its windy they can get crappy in short order. If I go with the viper I'm kinda thinking 129" but the doo thinking 137". The 129 is already longer then I'm used to and what I preferred at the demo. I also rode a xtx which was nice but the handling wasn't there.
Wish I could have rode s 137" viper

Lower Michigan gets beat by lunch time where i ride so mine tops or bridges the crap whoops. It does give up some handling when trails are perfect but off trail is better too! Im just accustom to long tracks and see 120-121's falling in the holes much to often. DeerHuntr the 137" is 16" wide!

Yamaha advertises it at 15" wide. Maybe just a typo. Lolbottlerocket said:Lower Michigan gets beat by lunch time where i ride so mine tops or bridges the crap whoops.
