My grandson took my sidewinder to the buxton maine grass drags today, along with a couple mod sleds he has,my son and I did a quick set up,as cheap as I could yesterday on it,and it rocked preety good in a small rough field,in Newport maine, boy said he saw 83 on the speedo,i said man that's quick, sense the field could not have been any longer than 300 feet.So we removed rear blocks, sucked down the limiters 2" beyond there last hole and relaxed the front ski shock springs 2.5 inches, this lowered the sled nicely,so sense it is not studded it would not launch very hard, but pull like freight train by 100 foot mark. So I was not at the track with grandson today, but it had rained most of the morning, and track was wet,and clay starter area, did not help him,he got one warm up run to extablish ET and speed,it was his 5.5 91 mph run,he said it spun and pulled sideways some so he had to step out of it for a sec than continue down the track for his time, and felt he could of run much better if he did not have to chop throttle, well ya I agree there,so not a bad time, just bad luck, they threw him into open mod class, sense the sled was turboed,ya right, and his first and last round was ended by a big triple full mod kitty 1010cc.
