Hi, my name is Duane Seppilu. I'm from St. Lawrence Island Alaska. My brotherin-law and my sis went to Gambell which is the next and only other village on this island, 49 miles on the trail. 38 strait across. they left on 13th in the middle of the nite and the temp was -20F with windchill -65F. we got word that they hadn't made it into the other village. local SAR sent a hasty team out to look for them with no luck.
to make a long story short, we didn't find them until the 2nd day or 3rd day. but they we're barely alive. i was with my 09 xtx and on the way back from gambell on the lakes i noticed my rh upper a-arm came loose. i still made it home 30 miles away. what is yamaha gonna do about it? nothing, they told me to take it apart and put red loctite and leave it at that.

Glad you found them, But yes there is a recall because during initial assembly there was a burr that prevented them tightening them proper. They are probably telling you that so you don't waste your time dragging your sled in for a 5 minute fix that most people can do themselves.
