what are you paying for your oil change

First two seasons I had the shop do the oil change, c/w new filter and gear oil changed.

Both times it was 1.5 hrs labour and total price of $150 canadian.
However the dealer told me next time it would cost more.

I bought the oil and a filter, and will do the change soon.
If you do up a rough cost, I think I was getting a damm good deal from the shop.

3 litres of oil = $35
Filter = $20
1.5 hrs labour @ $56/hr = $84
Gear oil = $5
--------------------------------------
Subtotal = $144
Tax - 13% for me = $18.72
-----------------------------------

TOTAL = $162.72

Also forgot ... many shops have a shop supplies charge and the labour rate is different wherever you go.

just did oil change in phazer #2 ! how come it didn;t take .75 hour
because a lot of mechanics like to plug the pooch, which means alot of us are paying for the mechanic to drink coffee for 3/4 of an hour.

BTW i phoned yamaha canada, according to our local rep the oil filter itself doesn't need changing every year!!! 15000kms. one filter can get the average guy through 6+ seasons. oil still should be changed every season though.

I had oil change, chain case oil change, 3 plugs, lube and track adjust for $230. That was labor and tax included in PA. imo that wasn't a bad price at all. Although it was a 06 Nytro not a phazer

Just in case you didn't notice, PA in this thread is referring to Prince Albert, SK Canada. Would be an easy miss though.

SORRY CHIEF MY BAD :dunno:
