Alot of wierd posts in the off season so let's get back to business.....
What are thoughts on the Mono-Shock? I basically bought this sled because of this suspension so let's hear it......
I thinks it will ride nice but there are a couple of things I would hope have improved....
Hookup....the proaction sucked, I hope that this is better on the 05.
Ride....I know the ride will be better but really....how much better...M10 better? SC10-3 better?
Adjustability Thingy.....what's the chances of this thing screwing up?
Durability.....let's face it...there not a whole lot of metal under there...how do you think it will hold up under extreme conditons that we all sometimes encounter?

It looks pretty
Who really knows what the production one's will actually do. My guess is they will work very well and improve in every area. I was impressed with the changes Yamaha made from 03 to 04 and I assume the same will be true from 04 to 05.
I was very impressed with the pro-action in my Warrior, it did everything well. Maybe that skid should have been 136 inchs all along

Wonder we had a chance to ride the RX1 on and off for several days. I kept switching from the warrior to the RX1. It was easy to adjust, it felt very comfortable and handled really light.
The ride was almost as plush as the RX1's with an M10 but the transfer was great and overal had a better ride. It was very predictable in handling.
I liked my warrior very much but the 05 RX1 was a lot smoother and was very nimble. Our group ordered 8 of them. Five were warrior riders and one was a REV 800 convert. The remaining 2 were RX1 riders.

Tom we all rode it much harder than we would normally ride and it was much better than the warrior especially in the studder bumps. I adjusted it on the fly for changing conditions and that is what made me fall in love. I feel it rode almost as plush as the M10 on the wifes warrior but was extremly more stable with excellent weight transfer and cornered far better.
I feel they hit a home run. The REV convert said it was much better for long days than the REV. He has been Doo for ever.

That is great to hear! I just hope the hookup is good. I always lost out on the holeshot!
Hey Dukester...what do you mean "Changed to all black" No more Candy Red for you?
I know what you mean....everybody and their brother has ordered the Candy Red ones...but I wasn't crazy about the blue again but the "All Black" sounds good.....I may switch my order to "All Black" as well......
Just kidding! I'm sticking with the RED (they're faster you know  )

I changed to Black with side panels of black instead of gray.
I didn't want to look like you puppys. I changed color as soon as I read your color chose :ORC If you switch I will go back to Candy apple.
I adjusted the weight transfer on the 05 and got good hook up from just a light ski pressure to skis off the ground.

My dealer drove all 4 of the 05 brands. He said the new suspension could be adjusted for all the weight transfer you could want. He said it's one of the best of all 4. so the hook up should be good. As for the ride he said it was very smooth. the best YAMAHA has ever had, and just as good as the other 4. Maybe even a little better.. As for adjustability and durability time will tell...

Damn, will you guys quit talking about this! I liked my 03 except for the rear skid. Had to order the 05RX-1ER, sticking with blue as clothing already matches Really hope all the hype about this monoshock skid holds true

Based on what was stated - glad I ordered what I did - 05 RX1 ER for myself and Vector ER for the wife. Both are blue
PS New to the site - not new to snowmobiling

I thought you had to stop to adjust the shock. You stated that you adjusted on the fly? Does it really matter or is it too hard on the shock?

Dang Dukester,
Promised myself I'd wait one more year for a new sled, Promised myself I wouldn't read any threads on the 05's....Then you just had to say all those good things about the new skid
one weak moment and..........
Now who's gonna explain to the woman who lets me live with her...how that new sled got in the garage come Oct.?? :ORC

Hopefully it will be better than Ski-Doo's swing arm suspension that only was produced for one season.
