What Actionjack said; I have worn Sorels, Trukks, and the high dollar Yamaha boots from '03. The RU Outside Renegade 4s are light weight with good ankle support compared to the other three. The are also great in cold weather (about the same as my Sorels).

BigFoot said:I wear LaCrosse IceMan boots (sorel style boot, better cold rating). I've looked at the Altimate and Trukke boots, but another point of consideration is whether you can get them in the size you need. I only have so many choices in a size 15. (thus the username) I haven't seen many of these choices in the larger sizes. BTW, I've already heard most of the barefoot skiing comments, LOL
those ar not boots they are snow shoes!! size 15 sheesh. prob could put my feet (size 9) with boots on inside your boots

gade-thrasher said:I a bit concerned about some of the snowcross style boots. They look awesome and fit really nice (for the ones I've tried on). But the ankle support seems really stiff. I'm sure it's great if you really pound the moguls. But they seems really difficult to walk in. Can this become uncomfortable after a whole day?
I have been using the hmk highmark for the past 3 seasons.
hmk claims the boots will break in after 3-5 rides. i found that it took almost a whole season to break them in.
What i mean by this is they were very stiff to walk in. they were never tight (i have real wide feet) or uncomfortable just kinda tough to walk in till they broke in.
these boots are top of the line and i have no complaints. They are an incredibly warm and comfortable boot and i recomend them to anyone.
With the hmk boots on, I spent almost a solid hour in waist deep water at 5 degrees out. we were digging a friends sled out of a river. then i had to drive my sled an hour to get back to the hotel. my friend had to be taken to the hotel by the groomer. he was so cold and terrified, he thought he was going to lose his feet to frostbite. i made it home with no problems soaked feet soaked bibs and all. I had to stand in the shower with the water on hot to get all the ice melted so i could get my gear off. my feet never once were cold that whole night. even while standing in the river. when we got home my friend bought a pair of the hmk boots.

I sent an email to Sorel to check out how well their product is doing on this survey and to put up a banner here and give us all a discount on any orders placed through this site. Hope they go for it. Tom I gave them your email in case they are interested hope you dont mind.

Bought a pair of these at Hay Days because I was so impressed with their stuff. The socks that I bought from them two seasons ago are awesome because they keep your feet dry. I used to wear LaCross Ice Kings; really warm but also bulky.actionjack said:

Never really thought of sorels as an option. I have sorels as my hunting boots, but have never worn them for snowmobiling....

I have an awsome pair of castle boots that look similar to the yamaha boots.. and they were $50 cheaper
ruoutside. Have had a pair for seven years. I use their wool blend socks and never a problem.

It's there now, but I have already voted and can't change it.

The person who started the poll needs to edit the poll which reads other so it reads Sorel not adding Sorel poll after most of us have already voted and cant do it again. Or start the darn poll over.
