What do you think about the mpi superchager

A CPR frontmount at 8 lbs has good throttle response and should be reliable as well. I started out with 240 HP, right now I'm beeing a 280+ hp guy, and now I want to be a 300+ hp on a regular basis guy. Boost is so addictive, and it's the same as with drugs (what I have read) you need more all the time to get the same rush, it's the same with boost. When you have learnt to control the power you'll start thinking "I can certainly control a few more ponies, let's up the boost say 4-5 lbs and see what she can do now" - been there done that.

Henrik - All I can say for sure is: whatever you do you can't go wrong. MPI SC is a great product, Simons CPR have great products, so does MCXpress, Powderlites, and others. What do you want your sled to do is the most important question. Start reading thru the pages with posts at this forum and I can garantee you will get all your questions answered and then some. Happy reading and a merry christmas.

SC might be the answer for you!! You will LOVE BOTH!!!!!!!

HAHAHIjack - but not for me LOL
How about you Skydog?

I think every one on here has said the same thing!! 8 psi will be good then 10 then 12 on and on!!! The turbo will be easier down the road to ad more power over the S.C.

Stage-I, SCApex, 11lbs, 240hp...just enough for most people
Stage-II, SCApex, 19lbs, 312hp...more hp than most people should have
Drag Race SC 400-500hp...waaaay more hp than most people shoud have

my supercharger makes boost before i am even moving. I have yet to break half throttle and it just flat gets it. The boost is instant. no lag at all. i love my blower.

I just rode my stage 1 sc for the first time last weekend, wow is all I can say. Ran 10 lbs on 50/50 premium (94) and C12. Ran flawless, only issue I had was some stalling when the hood was completely covered with snow. Not getting enough air, going to add side vents and look into another air filter (bigger). Other than that, lots of power and fun to ride! Throttle response is instant, rarely has to use it all (but did!).

I love my SC on my RX-1mtn. I let Powder Nomad ride it yesterday his exact words were; "that was better than sex, the power is amazing yet it's also controllable".

But the response on the MCX Nytro is so good that it almost makes the SC
fast response idea a thing of the past.

One thing I have seen on SC Mountain sleds doing snow drags the SC hits so hard that control and track-spin is a problem and a well set up turbo will often take it ----- Did I say go for the turbo yet ------

This is where I use the little lag there is to my advantage dragracing on snow on the lake. I have my clutches setup to spin the track as little as possible for the first 5 meters or 15 ft, and at 6 meters or 20 ft boost is reaching maxximum. Now things starts to happen fast, but with the sled already moving the power is going to the ground accellerating hard with trackspin at an tolerable level. After 60 ft the trackspin stops and power is going to the ground. My combination of gearing, STs, Dalton helix is working just fine in my application. Racing studded on ice is a totally different story tho.

Just to add some more info guys I ran my sled all day yesterday by myself. I have to say with the extra bypass valves 2 of them and the modded mitsu it ran strong . I am not that easily impressed coming off 2 diff turbo sleds. I averaged 15 mile per gallon at trail riding normal speeds with the occasional jab for a giggle. 27-25 pulleys was seeing 14lbs or I think anyway its hard to see guages and keep on the trail. At trail cruising I see about 1.5 pounds of boost but I can hear the modded mitsue valve at the bottom of the intercooler blowing off the boosted air. squeeze the throttle a little you can hear it stop and feel a little surge in the sled. I think there is enough pressure drop across the intercooler that the light springs in the mitsu valve are being opened at that point. pressure is higher at the foot of the cooler versus the throttle bodies where my valves are getting signal from.I will continue to experiment with this until I can get as good fuel mileage as a turbo or as close as possible. Guys I think there is more to learn here about bypasses and pressures across the intewrcoolers and so on I would post pics tommorow if someone can describe how to. Thanks for showing interest.

Need for Speed 2 - great info :-) I may modify and reinstall my Mitsubishi BOV in the intercooler. I have blocked the hole where it sat with a plate. Hmmm interesting. Please post the specs you find working the best with the modded Mitsubishi BOV.

When doing comparisons you have to take into consideration.

>>> Setup and State-Of-Tune <<<

I can set my up sled to hit as HARD or as SOFT as I want it to, off-idle, and out of the hole. The way I have it setup now it pulls consistent, linear, steady, from Idle to Peak. Like a stock Apex....on steroids !!!

Quote from MPIs web page (I haven't tested it to see how accurate it is)

"Pressure drop across the core is less than 0.5lb"
