The prototype Nytros had the anti bottoming blocks on them now the production units don't. I've read a report where the rear skid will bottom no matter how hard you set it. Why did they remove these blocks? The hole for them is still there on the rear skid but I didn't see them in the Yamaha catalog. Can we buy them or aren't they even available?

Can you tell me where they were located on the skid? We were checking out my RTX this weekend and you could see where there was something bolted into the rail, but was no longer there. We were guessing that it had something to do with shipping....

Yes what happened to our anti bottoming blocks and our 12v adaptor? Both are listed in the brochure as standard epuipment.

I am not sure what happened to the blocks, but when I picked up my FX Nytro I loaded it in the trailer and the machine felt like it didn't have any shock in the rear. I brought it home and if I pick up the back end of the sled it pulls up approx 4-6 inches and i can push it down with very little pressure? I will be bringing this back to the dealer to see whats up. This sled has (0) miles on it? I was just there with my fiance's FX phazer for the updates / recall. Now I am not sure if This a dealer issue, but I am not happy when my friends come over to see my Nitro FX (DOO FANS) and they pick up the back and see it just mushes down. This is a little imbarrassing never mind maddening. Yamaha has always been know for their fit and finish, but Now I have (2) sleds w/ problems?
I am definately a brand loyal fan and love Yamaha 4 strokes, but this sucks!!!!

did you have the track on dolly? My rear skid is real stiff with me at 250lbs at medium setting. Werid.. I'd wait and ride and go from there.

sounds like something is wrong with the setup, or something isn't put in correctly (weird, as the suspension doesn't have to be mounted when the sled is put together, it's already there from the factory, atleast mine was when I assembled the sled).
I rode it with my GF on the back, and had no problems with the rear suspension. Didn't take it thrpugh any bigger bumps, but would have notised if the suspension was sagging. It seems alot better then my Phazer...

Like NB said...make sure the thing is on the ground. I can jump up and down on my footwells and it will drop, but not that much. I have everything set pretty much at medium.
Is it a RTX or Standard?

Rider forward sleds will be softer in the rear and a lot firmer up front when sitting on the garage floor. A lot less of your weight is over the rear track arm now. Similiar to the earlier REV's when they came out. The front shocks and middle track shock do a lot more of the work now.....scottydog1 said:I am not sure what happened to the blocks, but when I picked up my FX Nytro I loaded it in the trailer and the machine felt like it didn't have any shock in the rear. There is something wrong for sure. My standard Nytro FX doesn't sag at all in the back and it takes some weight to get it to go down the 4-6 inches you talk of. The anti bottoming blocks have nothing to do with your problem. The only time they would help is when your suspension is near bottoming out then they will make contact higher up on the spring and keep the sled from bottoming. They look like they would work as advertised because the concept makes alot of sense.
