Removing transfer blocks

Cannondale will probly chime in here, but i wouldn't remove the shaft because you can over extend the shock.

1300 miles with the blocks out.. Still looks the same as when I pulled them out.. Stock wheels are fine and transfers just enough to lighten the front end on the rises!
What do you weigh,it seems the heavier guys are hitting and bending tab,but lighter guys may not have any problems.

Heavier riders will have more problems... and all will most likely bend the tabs..
I may have to install mine back in,now after reading some tab failures from heavier riders.

I really like the racewerx.... a torsion spring change and re valve would do wonders for my setup ...

I'm kinda surprised the vendors haven't come up with a proven fix for this small nuisance.

I can see the tabs have bent some on mine which has made me revisit drilling a new hole for the shaft....or, and i know this would be a project. Moving the point at which the tabs are mounted to make a more solid contact with the blocks. These could surely be welded in a much more beneficial spot.

I tried it last season. Removed the blocks and put some rubber hose around the rod. Chewed through it and in 2 rides. Blocks went back in promptly. I'm a big guy. So, take that for what it's worth.

I weigh 200lbs my rear wheels for so chewed up after 1 ride I had to replace them my tabs were bent over badly and I had to replace the aluminum block to even ride I will not remove it again

I did this on my viper ltx and it transfers great now but with stock wheel size. Above the white line is what I added

So I may be in for some damage to than. I am 230 naked as a jailbird,so rider weight close to 250 now,and my buddy who set it up,soaking wet he is 170 so about 80 lbs difference, you think I should reinstall my blocks,he did trim .09 thou off one side of the blocks, but I have TD 8.5 wheels,so unless I go back to stock wheels, and redrill hole for block rod to go back about 1" toward wheels, and keep blocks on,i may be left with a sled that wont transfer....

It depends on rear wheel size,if stock 8" ok,but if aftermarket 8.5 not so good, you will chew them up in no time.
You said it few posts back. Just watch the scissor if it is getting beat up from no blocks reinforce it. That scissor only takes a couple minutes to remove and weld up stronger or bigger for something in between.
