I'm planning to buy used. What year did they start making them lighter?

The Vector/Rage motor with 120hp is probably the closest to your 700 SXR. The Vector is sneaky fast in that it doesn't have low grunt power of the FX Nytro or the arm ripping power of the Apex/Attak models, but it surprisingly stays with both sleds up to 90 mph. The biggest advantage of the Vector/Rage is fuel mileage at around 22 mpg from its 3-cylinder 4-stroke engine. For the 2005-2007 years, the models were in the DB1 chassis with the seating position lower and without rider forward ergonomics. For 2008-2009, the models moved to the DB2 chassis that has the seating position higher and more rider forward. The Vector has a 121 " track whilst the Rage has a 136" track. Both sleds offer good wind protection.
Starting in 2006, Yamaha introduced the DB2 chassis to the Apex/Attak line-up that moved the rider forward, added hooked handlebars, and moved the seating position higher. Many people found this seating position to be better as it allowed them to more easily move from the seating position to standing up, which is great when the trails get rough. Yamaha also added EFI to their 4-cylinder 4-stroke motor that increased the power to slightly over 150 hp. The Apex model has a 121" track whilst the Attak has a 136" track. Both models generally provide good wind protection but the RTX has a minimal windshield.
Lots of arguments about track length but general agreement that the 136" track bridges the bumps better than the 121" track. The longer track also helps with stability and provides better traction.
I'm guessing by your weight that you are a younger rider. If you want more of a rider forward seating position, then you need to look at models in the DB2 chassis. If you want to stay seated all the time, then look at used sleds in the DB1 chassis and I would look for a Vector/Rage.
