Trying to decide what skis to run on a 2012 Apex XTX. We ran skidoo pilot 5.7 skis with 6" Shaper Center bars, and 4" woodys outer round bar carbides on our Attak Gt, Sled handles like its on rails but the power steering is whole new animal.

Thinking of running Curve XS skis (I run these on my Procross cat) and they do require some more steering effort which shouldn't matter with the power steering. Otherwise it will be a new set of Pilots with lots of carbide.

What is everyone else running ?

Stock skies with snowtrackers Agressive!!!!!!!!!!

Curves with 8" Bergstrom Triplepoints. 9500 mi. on my '11 XTX and they've been great in every condition.

Went from Curve XS with shaper bars to stockers with snowtrackers. I love the trackers but I think I would like the stock Yami mountain ski with trackers better for the floatation. I really like the trackers with the power steering. Effortless!

Stock with Bergstroms triple points.

I personally like the trackers better because they totally eliminated the darting and the stay sharp all the time. Bergstroms worked pretty good but had to adjust shimming for condition change. At 3,000 miles the sharp edges have warn off not so good on ice. But I would say best carbide traction when new over any thing I have ever used and I have tried them all on all my apex's.

Stock skis w/Snowtracker aggressive.

You didn't mention the type of riding you do... I trail ride 99.5% of the time so the stockers are fine for me regarding flotation. I tried pilots, tuners, and stock single keel... all with various carbides. Snowtrackers on the OE single keel ski impressed me the most and is what I'm running this year again. I regret not trying them prior to last year.

All trail here in Wisconsin some Michigan about 4000 miles a season. Always run into all sorts of different snow conditions.

It's a 100% trail sled, mixed terrain from Quebec wide open, to tight Muskoka area trails.

I may try my Curves on the XTX then put a set of pilots on my Procross

turner skis with the dual 6". i found the Yamaha 6" carbides are not as aggressive compared to the woody's. i might buy one pair of 4" Yamaha's and take the outside woody's off and try them this winter. I really like the tuners, I've been running them for 2 winters and love them

I have been using the Kimpex Arrows with great success...they had great bite especially with Snowtracker carbides or Studboy shapers. It was in powder where these skis drove me nuts. After a mishap with some railroad tracks, it was time for replacements.

I'm trying out a set of USI Triple Threats with 9" Studboy Deuce Carbides this year...should be an interesting test this winter. I hear they are a pretty aggressive ski with great flotation.

With the limited 600 miles on my XTX last spring, I went cheap by installing Studboy Deuce bars on the stock skis. They worked well in the conditions I encountered. Only a couple months before I can continue testing.

Good luck!

i run curve xs on mine with 6" woodys carbides. i need a bit more heel shim but i like them when the toe is set correct. if the toe is out 1/8" i can feel it.

I have a 12 Apex with Trackers. They as good as it get's for bite and straight line tracking.
