Man i am ready to put my Rx1 back togeather but dont know about one or two gaskets? I have a Apex for my trail sled now, so i am thinking one gasket and good fuel the sled will be faster. Can i run like 15PSI with good fuel on one stock head gasket? Or should i run two gaskets good fuel and 15psi?? :o| :o|

Thank you Skydog ;)!

If you're going to run good fuel, go with one.

Yea i think i will! Will i need like 112oct for 15LBS with one stock gasket?

Thank you !!

Skydog - Do you run low comp pistons?

Ted Jannetty ran 14 lbs on his Warrior with a bone stock motor. He fed it with Sunoco GT Plus unleaded, 104 octane in US measurements. But he put in some ignition timing retard if my memory serves me.

With my setup runnung low comp pistons and 2 gaskets I get away with pump fuel running 15-16 lbs at the most. I may open a barrel of good fuel GT plus and test her at 18 lbs when condition allows.

Merry Xmas, 20 minutes and counting :-) LOL

Merry Xmas To YOU!!!

Thank you My motor is bone stock so 105-108 at 14lbs should be safe for short runs.

I think you are right. IMO, you'd be able to get away with full timing and 15psi on a stock motor with C12/C16 fuel.

I am going to run 104 octane boost, not sure the availability of getting gas in the up other then 93. So I plan on carring 104 boost along to add in with my gas??

Brett-octane boost is hype-it does not work.

As I remember, you are using a single headgasket, correct? If so, keep the boost to around 6psi max and your sled will live a happy life. Some will say you can run a couple psi more, but don't chance it. Typically I start my day out on a full tank of AVGAS and set the boost at 11 psi. I then try to fill up around 1/2 tank with 93 octane and lower the boost to 9 psi. If I need fuel again, i'll turn it down to 7. Lots of miles with no problems.
