Hey guys, I just picked up a 07 Attak with 6000 original miles on it, and it has the original Rip saw in it but has never been studded. I CAN'T stand running without studs, so rather then wasting my money and studding this track what do you guys recommend for the best hook up and top end?
Here is a breakdown of my riding:
70% very aggresive trail riding on groomed trails.
20% cruising with the family.
10% racing out on Houghton Lk, Mi.
I was thinking of a 1 inch hacksaw with some nice tall studs, just for the trail riding and hookup on the hardpacked Lk, let me know what you think.

My next track due to alot of guys recomendations is going to be the Camoplast Cobra with 1.450" Woody Gold Diggers. Not sure if they call it a 1.25" or 1.325" as the outide lugs are slighly higher and the center lugs are 1.25". They are saying there is a significant improvement in all areas with this track compared to the ripsaw. I'm sure one of them will tell you more.
My $0.02.
My $0.02.

Yeah I have heard about that track, sounds like a good all around setup.
I have a friend with the 1 inch Hacksaw in a Attak and he said he could not really tell the difference from the ripsaw 1 1/4 to the hacksaw in the trail, but he did notice better all around hookup with the hacksaw with studs on the hardpack lake and top end. I think I am going to have to give it a try, I did look at the hacksaw last night for the first time in person and did kind of like the looks of it, not that much different then the Ripsaw.
Does anyone else have anymore opinions before I buy the 1 inch Hacksaw?
Also, where is the best place to get a new track?

The only real gripe with the Ripsaw is off trail and I see you don't do that so why not another ripsaw? They don't lose you any top end like many others do.

and/or general soft trail conditions is also where it lacks... On harder trail conditions, it does well with 1.450 studs... I have not had a chance yet to run my Cobra on good hard ground, but we will see if it lives up to the hype. I have only been able to hit 95mph (GPS) in the conditions that we have had, real soft... It keeps snowing here. I have about 6 feet of snow here. My snowblower can't even throw it over the banks in my driveway anymore at the end of my drive way, because they are so high... We are supposed to get a thaw at the end of this week and into next week, so hopefully I will be able to see what we can do...

I don't have any gripe's about the ripsaw and actually like the track, but my friend told me that after he switched to the 1inch Hacksaw, he noticed no difference in the trail and actually had a better holeshot and topend with the Hacksaw. I have a place at Houghton Lk and strictly ride groomed trails and the hardpacked lk. We do run for long ways on the lk and if it would help with top end I am all for it.

Do they make a 1inch ripsaw in a 136 x 15 ?

Get the 1x14" track and run 1.325's studs for the lake. It's 3-5mph faster on top.

what track were you refering to? the hacksaw in the 14 inch wide by 1 inch? I know a guy who went with a skinnier track and ruined it when he jumped a snow bank and the track came off the rear wheels and never went back on, and he put a huge gouge in the track and it was shot. This was his test ride on the sled with the new track. I am going to stick with the 15" wide track for sure.

I'm not sure how that could happen... You said you were looking for top end on the lake.. It's faster then the 15"x1" hacksaw...

anyone running this cobra with 1.375 studs ?
i thought this might work without the worries of dammage from longer studs. i have rear heat exchanger & run track loose, have already had damage with 1.375 studs (now protected better).
i believe only certain area of cobra is 1.325, the rest is 1.25" high ?
