What turbo should i go with, Push turbo or a MPI turbo

All jokes aside. I personally feel the MPI kit is solid. The fit and finish of their product just looks factory. You could always start out with the MPI 180 kit from yamaha for a screaming deal. Then If you feel like you need more HP's you could always call the dudes up at MPI and they can upgrade your kit I think their stage 2 upgrade makes around 300 horse plus or minus a few HPs. Besides yamaha is backing their kit with by not voiding the warranty on a 180. That has to say something for itself.

I'm might be a little bias but you asked MPI or PUSH so I'll sell you on MPI facts. I'm sure the Push, MCX, and Huricane kits all run great. I don't think anyone has a "REAL" HP advantage over the other. So I think just ask yourself a few questions:

What systems has been FACTORY tested and approved? MPI has been through the Yamaha R&D ringer several times over the last few years. This allows us to engineer our product beyond the level that most company's are capable of testing to.
What kit has been certified EPA compliant? This might not be a big deal to most people but this is not a easy task. The commitment and cost to go though this is something that most company's don't have a reason to do.
Which system is sound compliant? We started this project building everything around a sound compliant muffler. Sound restrictions are becoming more of a problem. If sound is not a problem we offer a light weight muffler option.
Customer support? I try my best to be available to everyone. Thanks to Tom we have a great forum for questions to be answered.
Upgradeability? The base kit we sell to Yamaha has a lot of potential.

Thank You everyone for your input! All the kits sound like they are really close to each other. I think it is going to come down to customer service.

Hurricane turbo kit is the way to go. Fit and finish second to none, easy install and Dave has been very helpful.

The Hurricane looks good but not to sure about where that intake is. Not much cold air there. I rode the MPI's last year and was very impressed with fit and finish of there kit. Matt is all over Snowest and here so he is easy to talk to think I will stick with MPI
Mark Leipheimer at Leipheimer Motorsports sells and installs MCX kits and there fit finish and performance is also great so IMO don't think a person could go wrong with either one of the MPI or MCX kits

What particular turbo is each manufacturer using? That is one thing I would be focusing on when choosing.

TiAL/Garrett. I am not sure what others are using for fuel controllers, but ours is 100% plug & play, has multi map, altitude compensated electronic boost control, timing control, injector scaling (we run 3 direct replacement matched and flowed 550cc injectors as the stock injectors run out of fuel at about 210 hp). We also have the ability to run closed loop, but currently have this feature unused. The sled as is runs extremely well without it;)!

We will begin selling our plug & play APC (Advanced Piggyback Controller) in 30-45 days and will have a number of different options including larger injectors. It will be available with or without a base map, has real time live tuning capability while displaying AFR's, boost, ect. Has about 1 hour of data logging capability (which can be played back and maps be modified during playback), multi map, etc.

Come on Dave built a "outside the hood" intake that's the only thing people can say bad about your kit. I think your kit is awesome and hey the "outside the hood" intake would look bad #*$&@!

Was on your website a few days ago looking at your Porsche products. Nice stuff!

This would be awesome for someone with a less than perfect kit, looking for better tuning! I kinda wanna try one and I don't even have my sled yet.....lol

Is Push turbo even still in business. Heard a rumor that he was bought out. I tried months ago to call and email with no response. Read and heard from several people that customer service was non existent most time.
