Trying to look into some info on what sled to possible purchase for a 10 -12 year old child? I looked briefly at the Polaris 120 and it seems a bit small.
And I would like to stick with a Yamaha 4 stroke. I was leaning towards a phazer since it's fairly small and light?
Thanks

There are still some nice Enticers out there for field riding. If you are going to be on a trail, the SRV" and the SS are a timless design. The newer Phaser is also a cool looking piece , (dont know how the ride is , didn"t have any of them)
My three went from an Enticer to" the Whale "(600XT)

the new phaser feels like a dirt bike, narrow seat and easy handling not sure how much you want to spend. but its a 4stroke nd honestly will last him/her for years. and yes the srv from what i remeber when having one was light and easy to get unstuck. fairly cheap lift kits available out there also so may great memeries with that sled in my early teen years with my friend. all ended when it landed un a stump and we blew the whole bottom on the belly out

99 phaser
I picked this 99 phazer up this summer for one thousand dollors and my 11 year old is gonna ride it this year. I know you said 4 stroke and its a 2 stroke but its his first sled and if he tears it up its not a huge loss!!
Also there are the four stroke mid size sled premier snowmobiles

The worst thing about my state Iowa is you have to be 12 and completed a snowmobile saftey coarse to ride trails and ditches. Not a bad thing I guess for saftey...but sure changes where you can ride!! I get kinda tired of field riding!

I don't know where you are at because you don't have it in your sig. In Wisconsin kid's can't ride on trail's till 12 with safety course cert.
IMO a ten yr old should not be on a full size sled! When things happen and they do they don't have the strength or size deal with the situation. I have seen and heard of some nasty deal's!
From ten to twelve kids change a lot so what they should be on at ten is to small by twelve.
I looked around and picked up a Snow Scoot for my son. It was big enough and had enough power for me to ride with him till I felt he could be safe on it by him self and he didn't get board with it till he was twelve when I bought him a 07 Phazer.
Another nice thing about a Scoot is I got more than I paid for it after owning it for several Yrs.

I respect your opinion on the sno scoot... but try to find one that is not junk! My son has raced motorcross and run his 90 cc four wheeler all over the place so he is no newbie when it comes to motorsports. But I see your point about someone with no experince and thats why you strart them in a big open field.

Plenty of Bravos around $4 to $600 perfect for 10 year old to tool around on private land or lake. I liked it for off trail thru trees. Might top out at 50mph with kids on it.

I was referring to the original poster but any way a four stroke Phazer is no 90cc four wheeler. They will radar 90+ and are quite quick! Kids often loose respect for speed and when it's to late it is to late! Suit your self!
You can find Sno Scoot's around infact there was just a pair of them not long ago in really nice cond on EBay.
