What you guys expected?

Is The Nytro RTX what you guys were hoping for? Or was it more along the lines of the 01 Winter when the SX Viper came out. :ORC

Probably an accurate comparison to the first Viper.

I'm 6' and the Nytro fits me like a glove. I had no idea til I broke my F7 out today and rode it around the back 40. On my F7 I never knew how hunched over I was standing up. On the Nytro the bars are perfect when I stand. Since I ride standing most of the time, this sled was built for me. Engine is everything I'd had hoped for and then some. Once I get the sled dialed in and riding perfect, It'll be my dream sled for years to come.

Now off to my neighbors to show it off to him.........lol

Why do you say that?

I had a first year Viper.........this sled could not be more different.....IMO.

I love this sled . I dont think it will ever be the best cornering sled I have ever owned but it is a blast to ride . I think this sled wasnt built to be the best cornering sled on groomed trails it was built to be a ditch banger and Yamaha did a great job . I am not saying it cant be made to corner because with a little set up I think it handles good but with most standup style sleds your center of gravity is higher so it will be a little tippier in the corners . It reminds me of my 03 F-7 Firecat it was a little tippy but if you moved around on the sled and rode it aggressive I though it worked great .

This sled rocks, I would almost willing to say there isn't another stock sled out there that would stay with this sled to 85. I smoked my buddies 07 Apex Rtx. he only started cathing me at about 95.

I totally agree it is tippy like a Firecat. I was able to dial the Firecat in and it handled just as good as a ZR. Hopefully I can do the same with this FX chasis

I hve only gotten to ride mine around the neighborhood, and only have about 4 miles on it, but I noticed how jumpy the throttle is. I had a harder time keeping a slow pace through my neighbors yards than i do with my Apex. It just seemed to want to go! I jumped on my Apex and hit the trails right after playing on the Nytro, and I noticed how much better the Nytro fits my riding style. I like to stand alot, and jump alot. While standing, the Nytro fit me perfectly, and even by buddy who has a 600 Rev took it around the block, and he said it fit him better than his Rev does!
I think Yamaha is on to something here.
I just hope they do make refinements, whatever they may be. Evolving this platform would be a better choice IMO, rather than just running it for a few years and scrapping it in favor of a new design. With the cost of any sled these days, it kind of sucks when they finaly do change models becuse you feel like you now own a dinosaur, and feel compled to shell out more cash to keep up with the Jonses!

What I don't understand is all of the guys buying the nytro and trying to make them into a touring sled. This sled was developed for sno x, not trail x lol I agree it isn't the best cornering sled but through the ditches here in iowa it is so darn much fun. The motor is great, not the most powerful but like others have said to about 80 I don't know what could beat it. I had to 900 cats and I darn to say this thing has more low end tq than them. Now the fuel mileage isn't that great, (12.5 for me) so I am thinking about the 10 gallon tank I saw advertised. I am 95% satisfied with this sled, so much so that I have sold my attak gt.

New sled with a great engine and a poorly calibrated chassis. Why did you ask if what like the 2002 Viper?
