I see alot of pouting and whining going on about the 08's,,and I don't get it....so there's no 136 phazer...or 136 fx....Do you want yamaha to flood the market like ski-doo, and polaris has over the last 5 years??? :ORC Folks you just can't have it all....I would bet you'll see an updated Apex next year...and the 136's next year...introing a new model is expensive..and think about this...yamaha has intro'd 4 new models in 3 years...who else has done that???
This new nytro is gonna be killer.....As I have said before..I am upgrading to a yamaha four stroke (once my rev sells)...believe me...many other people are looking...guys that wouldn't even bat an eye at yamaha 4 years ago......if you go to any other chat boards...yamaha is the most talked about/trashed sled....ask yourself why??? If yamaha wasn't a threat to em...they wouldn't talk about em so much...they wouldn't care..yet the number one brand that gets talked about is yamaha...is it not???

Its not that the Nytro isnt going to be killer... ITs that the rest of the lineup didnt get more than BNGs..
a 160hp apex would have been nice along with a 20lb weight reduction.. and a new ski design..
Im glad i love my apex... because i wouldnt be buying a yamaha this year anways..

welterracer--- i agree 100% the nytro is gonna rock but yami can do better than they did with this years line-up.... like i said in other posts orange A-arms on a white and grey sled??? no 136 fx nytro etc etc

I think they all look pretty cool for 08. I just wonder why they got on this no windshield kick.

Then maybe they'd actually offer the dream Yamaha crossover that they continually fail to build for me. Don't get me wrong. I love Yamaha. But they don't build a sled that quite fits my needs. The other 3 mfrs do. Unfortunately the other 3 don't have the fit/finish/quality of the Yamaha.
So I'm forced to choose. Fit/finish/quality in a sled that dosn't quite do what I ask it to do? OR a sled that does exactly what I ask it to do, but is more likely to have a few quality issues and smoke a bit? Frankly I'm leaning toward the latter at this time, since I tried the former last year with an 07 Attak.
If Yamaha could fill another hole or two in their lineup, I WOULD have it all, and I would not have any complaints.

Good post and I very much agree. Yamaha is spoiling us and it will never be good enough to some guys. Interesting, I see more complaining here than on any other board, and we are the Yamaha loyalists? Hardcoresledder, Dootalk both have threads about the 08 Yamahas, and you dont see near the complaining you do here. Regardless of what the nay sayers complain about, Yamaha has a very impressive line up of offerings. Do they have EVERY possible sled combonation?, No, but who does. Also know that if you are on a Yamaha, you are on the best built/engineered/quality sled on the market...BBY

Guys, hellooo, it is a 3 year model cycle!! The entire sled market has shrunk to about 160K units a year, that is over 1/3rd of the market GONE from the recent past. Did you see how they got 10 hp more out of the 3 cylinder? A new engine block and crank. And that is not cheap for a model you might only sell 6000 of tops.

The way I count, Yamaha has introduced seven (7) models that you could not have bought last year!

That's alot IMO, and you can always say "they" could have done more. I like the approach Yamaha is taking. As Heritage said, they don't overproduce product and ram it down the dealers throats the way the other manufactures do. That contributes to lower used sled price. Look at it this way, IMO Yamaha just did everybody with a 2007 and older RS style sled a huge favor. You guys own sleds with a great reputation that is no longer available as a new sled but yet many people still desire. I think that looks good for your resale value. Compare that to what Polaris did to all their loyal Fusion buyers. Two years on the market then it was pulled (ouch)! That was three years ago and Polaris is still looking for direction.

I agree with all yammi has done is great and all the 130hp models are going to kick #*$&@! Just surprised they didn't do a 136" track is all..you know this is coming next year as it did when they came out with the first RX-1's..like some have said maybe we are spoiled and want it all NOW..lol.

Heritage it might come off as a complaint but We want what We want. And a 136" just didn't seem like that much to ask for. I don't want to wait. Weight broke the wagon.
To be honest...I'm with craze1cars and Superman, I really like the 136

Sorry, but I AM disappointed by no 136, no HP jump for Apex, and no attak model in 08.

I swear yamaha "loyalists" whine more than any other brand. I too was hoping for a 136 nytro, but I'm not all that disappointed now, it'll come eventually, just can't expect them to dump everything on us in one year. Get some perspective.
