Yamaha Nytro xtx 2010
I saw 2 method of wheels upgrade for the nytro xtx 2010

the xcell wheel kit (8) 135 mm

the scmith brother wheel kitt that add 2 kit of ouboard wheel and one inboard wheel * but I do not know if they are the same diameter than the yamaha.

Xcell are bigger so there is less friction on the hyfax, but how is the ride compare to stock? does the sled feel different?

sccmith bross have more wheels (12) so there will also be less friction on the hyfax and the load might be more uniform?

wich one of those two approach is the better one? ride quality, reliability, performance? I want the best of the two kit anyone tried them?

I am not an expert, but I tend to believe that the scmith bross approach would be better because it have more wheels means more even load, and probably easyer to moove.

This is an easy answer and has been debated for awhile now and the winner always is----- Xcell wheel kit. I put them on and it stops the excessive wear and tear with no ill side effects. If you do a search you will have all the info needed and order them before they run out as they do every year once the season starts.

I suggest to buy the kit (that you want to buy). Schmidt Brothers make very quality products. I've spoken with and always have had exceptional customer support from Chris Schmidt. I use some of their wheel kits on my RTX SE since I installed Ohlins rear shocks. His bearings are very good quality. You will not loose with Schmidt Brothers.

Schmidt bros wheel kits are 135mm and really help the hyrax wear , the excell wheel kit us nice too , you can't go wrong with either one both are great kits

So either of these kits you must change all the wheels at the same time and they both are 135 mm that means theyare compatible.

Price tend to be the big difference the 8 excel wheels are 285 and the scmjdt bross goes to 485 but you have two more set of wheels and the 4th wheel at the rear.

200 $ difference between them and a total of 5 wheels more.the big question is the result at the end will be the same or the difference is worth the 200 $.

If there is older thread about this can someone put the link here.
I talk to criss for the clutch guard and allen for the oilite both of these guys are great so that makes it harder to chose one from the other for the wheels kit

I was averaging 4-500 miles per set of sliders and even had a set gone in 300 after a full day of riding in warm weather. After buying the excell kit and new style Yamaha rear bogeys, mainly for looks and replaceable bearings, I currently have 1800 miles on my slides and they appear to have 3/4 of their life left in them. A vast improvement over stock and worth every penny

I have had the excell whell kit on my nytro for the last two seasons and i have not had to change my sliders, i think i will be able to get threw this season with them also. this wheel kit is worth ever penny. :yam:

Also the wheels only stick down an extra 2.5mm from stock and the extra stress on the rails is insignificant to the amount of other stresses that rails see in any ride

This is one of my fear that the bigger wheel stress the rais and crack them. I realy like to jump a little and to speed up in the trail when it is full of hills when the groomer has not past yet.so i wanna be shure not to just transfer a problem to another one in an other place

Had my Schmidt Bros kit on for two years and never had any problems , I jumped and when the trail got whooped out the faster I went . It doesn't put any more stress on the rails than the stock wheels do , there are thousands of kits out there and haven't herd any one say they had rail problems , do a search on stressed rails from oversized wheels ......and see what you get ......like I said I had my wheels on for two years and 3200 miles with out a problem ;)!

puts a little extra stress on the slide rails.. my 2 cents

X2 I fell the same way, if hifax ware is a issue ice scratchers go a long way and only cost 40.00 bucks. I like the Yamaha spoke wheels are nice looking and only 24.00 buck etc.. from Port Yamaha :-o
