when are we going to see the carbon fiber sleds.

True enough, alot of SXS's now in this area but I still prefer a quad for trail riding, the Griz is pretty comfy and good in the snow.

I am not going to rip on the Procross. I was seriously considering buying a Viper last year. I bought my first 2 new snowmobiles. A couple of years ago. I love the fit and finish of the Japan built sleds. Best snowmobile quality I have ever seen. That being said. I used to be an avid Arctic Cat fan. I chose Arctic Cat in 1991. Because they did not have trailing arms. I even got ribbed by my coworkers. I told them trailing arms belong on F-150”s not Snowmobiles. Sorry but at that time. I had 20 years of automotive repair experience. So I would love to own a Yamacat. But driveshaft and Valve adjustment. Problems! They need to wrap the exhaust manifolds. To direct heat away from the valves. Causes distortion. My opinion. I especially was excited about the King Air option for the Procross 137. I installed a 136 M10 on my Modified Arctic Cat. I bought it from David Karpick off e-bay. He was the builder of Blade snowmobiles. I picked up from him personally in Virginia MN. It came off a Blade snowmobile. Best modification I have ever done to a snowmobile!

Your making a lot of sense to me, I just installed a King Air team fast on my pro cross Viper. Will report when I get to ride it.

Yamadoo not sure if your concerned about your mph but that skid will slow your top end down substantially.

I met up with yamadoo and Redbeard (who had a Team Fast M20 Air skid with an onboard compressor installed on his Apex) last winter in the UP. After riding Redbeard's sled all I can say is WOW! Those Team Fast Air skids are the real deal.

Sure, you're going to lose some top end and transfer but if you want the best ride in the biz and don't need or care about top speed there's no other choice. I'm hoping to meet up with yamadoo sometime this winter and hope to swap sleds with him to give his new King Air Viper a test.

Who knows, might have one installed next season on one of our 'Winders. :hide: It all depends on what your riding priorities are.

How the hell did a thread about carbon fiber sleds get so off track???

When you get older your priorities change. Hope the aftermarket guy is still making EPS kits for the Procross chassis. If I win the lottery. I would definitely go this route. Procross, Heated Seat, King Air and EPS. Ultimate Sled!

I'm going to be playing with carbon fiber plates on my next Apex build. Tunnel, stiffeners, etc. The 'frame' on the delta box chassis is so light its all the crazy steel brackets they use that add up weight. Yamaha could make many of them out of carbon. shoulda woulda coulda! They won't so I will try to do it in my garage and send them the prints LOL

I am not too concerned with top end, I used to be very but IF top end is important I will just ride the APEX. My goal is handling and SMOOTH. The King air in the pro chasis is per the Manufactures and the Media riders the best performance riding of any Team Fast skid with some weight shift/ski lift preserved and still SMOOTH.

Unfortunately I cant ride it now.....PLEASE SNOW

I like the way you think —that is my goal!

I have the heated seat, sport windshield with mirrors, I made a custom GPS mount for an old Garmin 6 inch with VV mapping. My goal is a comfortable great riding warm trail sled that I can ride all day and just be amazed and pleased.

I am not doing the EPS but the rest. I am trying the ski shim set up Gerard Karpik of Team Fast recommends... when he test rode my sled (no shims yet) he felt I have to aggressive of carbide set up- 6 inch inside and 4 outside— I will try it and see when I get it back from the dealer for other repairs.
