I know some of this is a rehash but looking for opinions from guys that have ridden both sleds, is the RTX seat less comfortable from being stiffer? What about the rear suspension. Looking for the best suitable suspension for a 250+pnd rider. Ride mostly northern ME. & some local in PA so sometimes it gets crappy. thanx for opinions guys.

I have nor ridden the RTX, but yes the seat and suspension is firmer, but at your weight it shouldn't be a big player. I own an ER and a GT and after all said and done if I had to do it all over again, I would buy an the basic Attak. I have driven it also and I have 1600 miles on my Apex GT and I have to tell you that the Attak doesn't handle hardly any differently than the shorty, but rides better and hooks better. So much so that I'm stretching my Apex as we speak to 136. I would opt for a revalved rear shock and heavier spring. I only weight 160 and I had mine done and it made a big difference. no bottoming, and ride is great. Look up www.troycitygarage.com in Troy N.Y. and see what he has for deals. He's usually the best in the East. These sleds are great trail machines, but ditch bangers they are not. If you get one there is plenty of setup info here on this site. Where in the county do you go? I'm from Bangor. Jay

I have a standard attak and love it, i would never go back to a shorty again..... but if i were choosing comfort of the two, the ER would be more plush for sure.....

I prefer the Nytro (stiffer) seat on my Attak GT.

Is that Nytro seat a straight bolt on, on a Apex? Does it match upu with the tank and exhaust well? Does it have the rear stoorage the 07 Apex seat has? thanks, rr

Thanx for the opinions guys. Tough choice to make, I guess it will boil down to either wanting a blue Yami or the RTX. I was thinking more of the RTX because it is similar to the 06 Nytro which I wanted to get 1st. I'll see what my dealer in PA has the best deal on. Sez he has a demo 07 RTX with 670 or so miles for $7500 with factory warranty. Which of the 2 skids is a more durable design? The Pro Active looks like it would be. This past season I went back to "the County" for the 1st time in 9yrs in Feb. Worth every mile of the 680 mile trip up to PI. This will be my 1st Yamaha & 1st 4stroke. I still will ride Doo's but have to have an Apex after taking a test ride. It's more than the power, it's the whole looks & quality of the sled.
