Hello! I have read every page of every thread on using the white-white spring, putting 4mm washers on the secondary mounting posts, Thunder Products orange, and people using a Dalton helix to prevent spring binding and allow full shift out. Nothing was really conclusive. I know it all depends on your individual sled, your setup etc...
I have a stock 2012 Apex XTX with 1.25 I just picked up this year and a 2010 Vector LTX 1.25. Any thoughts on a good setup for these two ladies? I have a white-white spring on order for the Apex. I guess I could just pick up Ulmer's clutch kits that include a helix and call it a day, but I'd rather not drop that much right now.

who is driving what? soft start spring from barn of parts is not a bad thing but not for the performance rider. i run dalton 40/51 helix with heelclicker drag n flies in my 11 apex and there is a set going into my 16 this winter. my gf drives the 11 and likes how it is clutched witch was for me before i met her.

I, at 255lbs, am driving both. One is for Wisconsin and one for the UP of Michigan. I live on the border. I have soft start springs in both which I like. I'd like to prevent coil binding if I can. I'm ok with hard engine breaking.

well i am not a top end guy. i tend to set them for tree picking/corner to corner as that is more of what i see at home sledding. might want to talk to the guys at thunder products as they tell me that their stuff crawls as good as my set up does. i know my 11 is an animal corner to corner when it hooks up.

That Vec. could use a little more helix, but if you’re not into clutch tuning I’d suggest a kit or leave them stock. The Apex sleds are decent out of the box. You can pick up a little acceleration with clutching, but you need LOTS of traction as well to see any gains.
