And ski-doo people always claims that ski-doo is first with everything. My ski-doo friends always is first inn to have a "Service" on their snowmobiles, Like once a month. I just drive all winter and only fix things i break. But they don't want too tell when they break something because their ski-doo is so good

- Bought a new 05 Vector which I still have
24K miles
Anybody who thinks a 1200 Doo motor will beat an Apex is on something illegal. They're comparable to a Vector, not an Apex.
Doo does make a fine riding (rear skid) machine but it feels like I'm riding a piece of tinfoil going down the trail. Not for me right now.

LOL - I think BRP designed their chassis specifically for swapping-out that "Free" replacement motor in a hurry so repairs don't get backed-up.

I agree...it just chaps my #*$&@ sometimes...and I had to vent...lol I am pleasantly surprised how much better the 2011 and newer yamaha's are....they are far better machines than the 06-2010 sleds...you have to ride one to feel the difference....and I am pretty sure the critics never will...either they are jealous...or afraid they might like it, and have to eat crow. They aren't perfect...but I think Yamaha has addressed most of the issues on the early apex, and vector models.....they truly are a high quality machine.
It just seems the yellow goggle wearing folks are the most bitter about Yamaha....and do the most tongue waggin...I have alot of friends I ride with...all different brands...and we rip on each others sleds all the time..all in good fun...I'm sure you guys do this with your buddies too....but it seems..."YELLOW"...gets the most butt hurt lately...lol

If you are confident in your product you don't need to run around spreading rumours. You would be happy to just ride and not try to put down everyone around you. But if you know that your machine has a lot of short comings then you would have to insult others to take the focus off of your Ronald McDonald pile of smoke (with a fresh top end). As a yamaha rider I hardly ever put down other brands, I'm just super happy to see everyone out riding regardless of the brand.
If they start up with you just smile because you don't need to insult, just prove it on the trails.

Ummmmm....Brian, I'm not ready to make that claim on my 14 LTX vs. my 05 ER. The 14, with EFI and EPS is nice but as of today, I like my 05 better. Need much more seat time and tweaking on the 14 to make a final call. My 05 with the M10 and tweaked out is much more enjoyable to ride.....right now.
Now back to your originally scheduled programming......

Well...I know one thing....I don't need yamaha heaters...these handwarmers work...the mid range also feels much more potent...not sure about top end yet....I have duallys on this (they came on it)...and they do push in the corners...but they don't dart, and track straight...handling seems flatter....it is definately a stiffer ride than my attak...but I can also hit bigger bumps faster, smoother, and more in control.....I really like mine so far (about 120 miles on so far)

I had a 07 apex .it was fast smooth . Did it have problems yes more them my current doo ? Yes .
Apex is a great western U.p sled but once it's pushed hard in the corners it wears down the rider.
It's a great cruiser and lake racer and it fits Yamaha s demographic 40 plus rider.
The next 100 percent yamaha I'm sure will give doo a run for its money.

- 2015 Ski Doo 900 ACE Renegade Adrenaline
2007 Yamaha Phazer GT
My buddy picked up an 2015 Renegade Backcounty X (4th Ski Doo since 09). Before it even had a km on the odometer he took it in for 2 recalls. This weekend with only 45 lm on the odometer it was cutting out randomly on him.
I'll stick with my Yamaha.
Thought about jumping ship to a Renegade 900 Ace but for only 10 more hp and 400 more cc's why bother.

They all talk smack about yamaha because they know that yamaha has the best 4 stroke engine PERIOD. My buddy brags about how awsome his polaris 750 turbo is, but I quickly remind him that I can still beat him with my 17,000 mile rx1 and that he is on his second engine with only 4,000 miles on his sled. That shuts him up pretty quick. I love it.

And have you seen the commercials that ski-doo have at times? they use to bash yamaha in their commercials, sometimes it has more info on yamaha than the ski-doo sled. No wonder that ski-doo riders bash yamaha when ski-doo do it. But it only look stupid when a company have to bash a different brand only to try and make their product look better.

My buddy's 2015 GSX is going back to the dealer...he just told me his gauge pod is messed up....they are going to replace it....he can't adjust his air shock, because of whatever is going on, and the gauge not only isn't functioning right...but it's fogging badly...there is 100 miles on this sled....he told me two guys he works with also have 1200 GSX's....and one of the guys was having problems with his sled shutting down near cell towers....have any of you ever heard of this?? Can cell towers interfere with your sleds electronics?? Apparently that sled also got a new gauge pod, and isn't shutting down now...but I thought that was very strange....the bad thing with the ski-doo gauge pod...is you can't adjust your suspension, (of course you have no speedo, tach or fuel gauge..etc either)...I would not be happy if I paid $11,000 dollars for a sled, and the gauge pod went, in less than a 100 miles.
