Anybody got some info on what to expect with 7-8 PSI at sea level only? I am not going with 10 PSI as I don't want the bigger fuel pump, race gas or head shim. I'd love 240 HP but I'll be happy with 210 HP.

Please let me know if it's OK to PM you about details.

I'm sorry for beating a dead horse again but I've got to know, I will be getting my SC kit in about 3 weeks.

Thanks big time,

Moon (flat land rider from Ohio)

I had a Stage I SC running 1:1 pulleys ask away what you want to know.

7 PSI

TurboJamie,

I have PM'd you before. I would like to know the following please, if you could take the time to answer.

(1.) Who makes the pulleys for the MPI supercharger kit, Gates?
(2.) 1:1 is 24/24 correct?
(3.) Have you tried the SC with a blow off valve.
(4.) How far off are the fuel settings from Allen Ulmer's tuning chart?
(5.) What kind of gas mileage did you get with the 7 PSI supercharger?
(6.) What should I expect from this SC kit?
(7.) Will 1:1 give me 6, 7 or 7.5 PSI at 10,500?
(8.) Were you pleased with the results?
(9.) You used pump gas only?
(10.) Anything else I should be aware of?

I will be using a Vortech blow off valve and NGK digital A/F ratio meter.

Thanks heaps,
Moon

1) Gates makes the pulleys and belts.
2)Yes
3)No
4)Allens chart is very close each sled will require some fine tuning
5)100 miles to a tank was about all she had
6)TRUE bolt on performance. Great performance you will be happy
7)Im betting closer to 7.5 but you can turn it higher RPM and get more boost I did. I spn mine closer to 11k and ran more like 8+ psi
8)I was extremely happy with mine. No issues what so ever. Only diff is now my turbo sled passes my old SC like it was stock.
9)Yes only pump fuel
10)You need clutching, Wideband, boost gauge, I would look at BPE for their louvered inspection plate and gauge pod. Also DO NOT block the intercooler. Run a piece of foam or something. This is now a modded sled multiple WOT passes across a lake are not good and also sustained holidng the throttle over 70 mph ish area have had a few lock up. If you use your head there are no problems with these at all. Even my turbo I wont hold it at 3/4 throttle for safety sake that and your going to damn fast.

I can tell you you definitely won't get 210hp with 7 or 8 psi!

210hp would require more like 10-11 psi. Even then that assuming you have a hi flow exhaust.

10 PSI on a supercharged sled is 240hp. At this level you will need a bigger fuel pump, stacked gaskets and or pistons. At 8 psi, he will have around 210ish hp. I've done so much research my head hurts on this. 205 HP ALL DAY...

If this is wrong, then what HP would be had at 7-8psi. This is the same psi I will be running this next season as well and I am to think I will be at 205ish hp also.

Never ever seen a sled dyno anywhere near 240hp on 10 psi here... sorry! I have seen an apex blower running 205hp on 10psi of boost using a mountain performance blower.

I even have a rx1 blower which dynoed 242hp... but using stock compression, 110octane, 12.75 psi of boost and best part of all... a lysholms twin screw supercharger which is way more efficient than any centrifuge blower everybody uses.

Anyway, I won't get too deep into this debate since this already earned me a ban here... :o|

How does your blown yamaha's compare to that zx800 you have listed in your sig?

ZX800 will be first tested this winter.

It was a summit ZX600 last winter... so there was ... no possible comparison.

The 800 I put in will have between 160 and 165hp, that combined with the ZX body (which is pretty good in snow) attac20 153 track will make a near match for my 700# rx1 next winter. Is I decide to shave another 60# off this pork (which is easy), then summit will be no match.

By the way, I will run a ZX2 151 skid on my rx1, and am thinkning about a TimberSled front suspension with fox airs... so... my summit will still be my mule ride :jump:

See MPI Stage-I centrifugal supercharger results here:

First visit to DynoTech 11.3 lbs measured at intercooler 243.4 Hp
Second visit to DynoTech 9.3 lbs measured at MAP sensor 240.8 Hp

We dynoed John Wheelocks MPI supercharger at 232 at 9 lbs. On the same dyno my Powderlites front mount made 259 at 12 lbs. The MPI has sooooo much on the bottom it is very touchy with the throttle. Easy to install, No lag, No heat issues.

Hey Hammer, did you order your FX Nytro Mountain with a supercharger yet? I've heard it's the best thing since sliced bread!

probably more a thing of a dyno giving results lower than another then...

But on the dynomite dyno, (3 different dynomite dynos at 3 different shops) and I have never seen such high hp with so low boost numbers.

So my guess, different dynos give different hp readings.

One thing for sure, my rx1 with 12.75# of boost using a lysholm (very efficient) twin screw type blower gave me 242hp with a perfect AFR using 110 octane and stock compression. That same rx1 ran 133hp in stock NA form the year before.

A month later, I got 221hp running a set of 9-1 je pistons and pump gas on the same sled, but this time boost was down to 11.6# (probably due to somewhat higher filling volume of cylinders)

Dad snow-checked a Nytro...I sent him the MC-X turbo flyer...;)!
