i have an 03 mountain with 75 lbs off of it and slp powder pros up front. i always take the sway bar out of all my sleds but i was kind of holding off with this one becuase of the tippyness of the front end. i would love to take it off if it made a differance.

when you take it off does it really roll in the corners on the trail? how much does the sway bar weigh??

thanks
dallas

When you go out next time just undo one side when your in the hills .Takes like 5 minutes to do, real easy and then you can hook it back up for the trail ride back to the truck. Best of both worlds.

I took mine off - the trail handling suffers some, but it is worth it off trail in my opinion.

I think this is something that each rider has to try, and then decide. All of our riding styles are different - so we could go round and round on this topic for quite a while.......

Guess what? I took mine off and it is still a pig, but a better pig.....

The stock front end with out the swaybar can get outright scary if you run hard trailing in and out, great in the powder but to much compromise.
It works real well if you shorten the spindels and use stiffer springs.
I would love to try a vector frond end , they work sweet.

One more thing mine would botom out real bad if you hit hard on one ski without the sway-bar in. I found some realy heavy progressive springs and shortened the spindles by 2" , works great now.

I had to put mine back in .........the springs on my "works" shocks weren't up to the task . Too weak on their own.

You need to take of 2" on the spindle housing, and cut 2" out of the spindle (in the center to maintain the splines on top)
and weld it back together. It needs to be done on a layth to do a good job.
Any good machine shop will be able to do that.
You Need heavy springs if you run without the sway bar. My progressives are 0.5 mm thicker wire than stock and have 2 " more free length .

i plan on taking off about another 20++ lbs off the front end with the hood and a-arms. that should lighten up the front end! i too am going to tighten up the front springs abit but not too much. if i tighten them up toomuch it will affect my side hilling! i don't really care if it rolls a bit on the trail as i didn't buy it to ride onthe trail i bought it to ride the steep and deep! if i get into a real technical mountain i'll pull the rope on "oh canada" i can think it up the hill it handles so well!!LOL

I pulled my Sway Bar off and found it to handle much better in deep snow however it became much more tippy and have since replaced it. You asked how much it ways and it weighs approx. 2lbs

Took mine off the start of this season, and it is staying off. Nice to sidehill and turn in deep snow. Took a bit to get used to on trails.
