Who's having a bad snowmobile season

Man a 14 day trip would be a dream, I would never be able to do schedule that many days off from work, so a 2-3 day at most would be fine right now, hopefully I can make it happen before the snow goes in NB.

Maine, ... 10hrs maybe abit more, I would love to ride in Maine, some beautiful scenery their, northern NB is abit closer at around 6-7 hours i'm thinking maybe a trip there, hard to round up a crew to go though.
Im in Woodstock NB, 5 hours from Halifax, good sledding here.

Thanks, good to know.
Maine riding has been very good so far!! I do not want to rub it in, but I have just about 5,000 miles for the year.:). Yeah the 55 degree day a few days ago killed the trails. But the groomers have been out scuffing up the trails with the front blade. Then last night we got 2 more inches of powder on top. Good base with 2" of snow for lubrication on top. We ride about 50% on trail, and 50% off trail. It has not been the best winter here in Maine, but certainly not the worst one.

A bunch of snow fell locally last week. About 16" at my house.
But since the trails never got groomed, they are already destroyed from all of this weekends sledders. I am glad they are having fun.
I'm going to pass.

The u.p. , and especially the munising area Has had a decent year this year. The munising area has also really stepped up their grooming efforts too!!

Hopefully this warm week won't mess things up too much.

Meanwhile somewhere in northern MN!!!! this was before Sundays 8+ inches...

I'd be back up there but I can't find anyone to ride with!!! any takers!!!! 2500 this year and I want more!!!

I only got out twice this winter and my son only once! I tore a tendon in my ring finger back in November (Mallet finger) and it took about 8 weeks to heal, even going through with therapy. When the cast did come off for good (Had to have it changed weekly) It got wicked cold around these parts, plus I couldn't really bend it all that well yet anyway. When I finally did manage to get out, the conditions were less than stellar anyways. Just like last year, at the exact same time/week-end, a mild spell/rain came and took all away.
I rode a Thursday and Friday, back to back, and that was it. Our winter started out great but quickly changed. Our local club was busy these 2 days as I have never seen so many trucks and trailer in my life on a Thursday or Friday. When I usually ride solo on Fridays (my day off) I am usually the only truck, maybe 1 or 2 more, that is out there. This year the Thursday and Friday looked like it was a Saturday of a long week-end!
170 km's for me and around 80 for my son. Another stellar year in the books!

Irv, you need to come to Maine!! Getting another 4-6" of snow tomorrow night from what the weather is saying. This is not the best Maine winter, but it certainly is not the worst one.

Very good season in northern BC.
We have 3 to 5 feet at home and lots in the mountains.

12 miles total, and it looks like the season's done. Had I known this, I would have studded and at least been able to ride the lakes, where there was ice most of the winter. Speed runs are better than no riding at all, and I wasn't for taking trips to the UP yet to find snow. Even the 12 inches we got a week or so ago, that I spent the first day plowing, was gone the next day on the trails. One stinking ride, a month or so ago, where 6 miles in, I met dirt and rocks. Hopefully this means a nice hot summer, where I can spend everyday on my ski.

The problem of riding lakes, studed or not, without snow is two fold, hyfax burns up from no snow/lube and the sled will overheat from no snow on the heat exchangers.
I see your located near my cabin, I am on Vanetten lake off Loud and have had to go to the UP the last two seasons to ride. 1600 miles so far this season, 1400 last season in the UP also.
Have owned my place in Oscoda for 20 years, having not to be able to ride there the last two seasons is very discouraging. I am hoping to do one more trip before 4/1 when the trails close.

Well that's about 250 less than me, if that even. Quitting entirely is still on the table I'm retiring in Sept and will have more time but if the snow don't come next season, I'm out for good.
