As a new Yamaha owner I was just wondering who else has made the switch in the last two years? They say Yamahas market share is going up every year. So who has made the switch? what were you riding and what are you riding now? I went from an 06 600h.o. switchback to an 07 attak gt

Went from a '96 ZRT 600 to this, my kidneys are thanking me....
You'll be a very happy sledder...

I had an '04 Firecat F6, then bought an '06 Attak this summer. So far have only about 600 miles on the Attak.

I still have the F6 and like both sleds for different reasons. The Attak is far more powerful than the Firecat and ride quality is better too. I have some work to do on the Attak's cornering---it pushes corners something awful!! Dooly's eliminate darting, but apparently create another problem.

Surprisingly F7s have pulled past my Attak on the lake, though I think it's more a function my greater body weight (250#) against much lighter riders than a measure of the Attak's power and speed.

Yamaha has a great sled here in the Apex/Attak. Can't wait to get the setup nailed.

I am, but I'm far less brand loyal than most snowmobilers...I have clear memories of the family owning an enclosed 4 place trailer that for two years carried a Doo Formula MXLT, Poo Indy 400, Yamaha Phazer, and Arctic Cat Panther I owned all at the same time back in the mid 80s.
But for 2007, I seriously wanted to try a 4-stroker, and frankly I believe that Yamaha is the ONLY game in town for a high quality/high performance 4 stroke...so Yami it is....for now.

And I am now a VERY happy Attak owner.

Rest assured these Apex/Attaks (and every other 2007 sled of every brand) will be notably obsolete in a few short years. That's the way it ALWAYS works in this sport.

So I'm always looking forward to whatever the next best thing is coming around the corner, and when it presents itself I will buy it again, regardless of what the nameplate might happen to say.

I do agree and believe that Yamaha has been gaining significant market share over the past few years (in the US anyway). But this can no longer be easily quanitified since the mfr's don't release such numbers to the media any longer like they used to...they stopped doing that around 2004 I believe. So now all anyone can do is guess market share based on what we see on the trails. And it appears to me that Yamaha is gaining.

made the switch...went from

96 xlt sp (wifes)
98 XC 700 (mine)

to 07 vector GT (wifes)
07 Apex RTX (mine)

Switch

I went from a 98 XC851 BB and a 96 Ultra, HTG 900. I now have a 05 RX1, Long ways from a wedge. Love the smooth ride and decent power. Really looking forward to a year with out buying pistons.

I just bought an 07 Attack GT black. Coming off of an F7 snopro. We will see its my first Yamaha. Anyone want to buy a nightfire F7? LOL
My back is killing me

Had yamis in the 80 and early 90's. Went to Doo had a ton of them. Noe I have a 07 RTX and my wife is riding my 03.5 REV Blair Morgan X. She likes that sled better than the Apex so I will be keeping it for now.

This is my first Yamaha ever(Apex ER), I have been a VERY loyal Polaris owner for many years. I have bought a new top of the line Polaris every 2 years since the early 80's and sometimes every year when my wife started riding. My last 3 were a 800XC, 600 Classic and a 05 Fusion 50th anniversary edition. All 3 were basically junk and if it wasn't for a good dealer (Pioneer Motorsport) I probably would have gotten out of the sport. Now I can't get enough riding since I've gotten the apex, I love It. :4STroke:

Bought the 07 rtx this year and I love it the motor is so sweet came off f7 snow pro which I kept and still really like but it is made for a differnt type of riding as others have said. I ride the rtx alot more and have orderd the anti bottoming kit that should make me like it even more it was to soft more me in the really big bumps compared to the snow pro. Overall awesome sled and again 4 stroke motor rocks!!

I had a 2000 Mountain Max 700 with bender pipes for 4000 km and loved it!! I went to a 2002 Summit 800 144" with Reverse which was Junk then went to an 04 Summit Rev 800 144" which I liked but didn't trust the engine. Turns out my gut instinct was right, after 2500 km my top end went and my dealer informed me that this is a bi-annual tradition for bombardier 800's so I promptly came back to yamaha last year this month and have been enjoying my Apex Mountain in stock form for the last 2000 km.
