sj, you don't need more studs... You need longer. 1 stud per hp is what is recommended. I do not have a traction issue with 1.450's. 168 is all you need with 1.450's. I run 144 and have not lost any top end. I run 168 when I am drag racing and all I do is stud the outside belt to give a better hole shot.

im sure the more studs you will loose a little top end but worth it to me. longer studs i would be afraid of hitting when the track is loose or bottoming out??

192 when you want to go it go's when you want to stop it stops. You will have to do alot of 12 oz curls to be strong enough to turn it.

SJ....dont really know. Im riding an RTX which is geared a little lower anyways. That and I was over 300lbs suited up last winter. So top end was never my strong point. I wanted traction NOW!!!!

You guys are talking serious overkill here for trail use. Or are you talking about play on the ice? I think a decision must be made about which way to go and stud for that....
I've had 192 in both 121" and 136", both of which were tamed down to 144 (outsides removed) for trail use. The friggen things don't turn worth beans with that many in it! IMHO, 144 with single/double pattern should be all you'd ever need for trail. If that doesn't work you've got issues with your transfer setup. FWIW

sj said:man..easy for you to say...you got a custom pro x skid with all that transfer....you know yammies dont transfer unless set to stupid....
I think i'm going 189 with every third outside row...
OK, guilty as to having good control, but innocent as to the capabilities of the Mono. And don't let the avatar fool you. That's a full on trail setup, not some kid stuff for dinking around. It just hooks up something crazy in the deeper snow. I was as surprised as anyone the first time that happened.
Set to stupid? What's the downside? Is that done with the limiter strap?
