OK so maybe this is a really stupid question, But....
So many folks have installed the steering re locator kit, I am wondering what the top reasons are, is it re-location of the bars for people with long arms? reduced steering effort? something else??
Do people that install the locator mostly like to stand up so that is why they do it? I am mostly a trail rider, but I do find that I have to muscle the bars quite a bit.

Good question, I've considered the kit myself. I see OFT offers a block replacment for the standard position too. From what I've read most folks like the fact that the position moves forward and changes the plane of steering to more of a left/right feel vs. and up/down feel.

It gives the steering a more natural, or traditional feel. I don't think there is any mechanical advantage to it, but since it's a more push/pull movement rather than a up/down movement, that it feels easier to steer. Riders that stand up benefit from the bars being moved up and forward, and allowing them to stand closer to the central area of the sled. I generally sit when I ride the trails, and I wouldn't ever have another Nytro without it. When I am out ripping through drifts, going down trails in the woods, jumping, or whatever I may be doing, i will stand up. For my height (5'10"), the location of the handle bars with just the relocator is fine. If you are taller, you may want to add a 2" riser, to keep yourself from being slightly hunched over when standing and riding.
Someone on here posted pictures of a Nytro with a relocator in, and a Nytro without a relocator. I can't find the post now, but the pictures really show the difference in handlebar position.
People that have rode Nytro's without relocators, really like the feel of mine with a relocator. I hope my long winded $0.02 worth helps. It's a great product, and well worth the money.

Lay on your back and kick your leg up and down, or stand - and kick you leg back and forth. One just feels/works better.

Someone on here once posted about their shoulders be sore after riding without one, to the point it was hard to sleep. Well after getting my Nytro in the summer I wanted to try it without first and see if I could get by without it. Well after only two weekends of riding and the aggravating pain in the shoulders and back from that damn up down steering style my relocator is in the mail. After a day of long miles on the trail or a day of few miles but lots of fun in the backcountry the result was the same, I was just too fatigued to wanna ride much more. I honestly cannot wait to get the relocator on and help my steering immensely.

Just read the discription on their web site. It basically makes the steering so that its more like a "traditional" steering on say a "non rider forward" sled.
I am thinking about doing this especially if it fixes the SLOP that i have in my steering now.

I bought it and didn't notice much of a change in steering effort or motion but I do notice it forces me to sit closer to the tank and more upright, which is good in the bumps for a while but then I start to feel crammed. I think I need a taller seat as well.

It's a good mod for sure. Like what others have said - makes your steering more of a flat plateau. Kind of like comparing a steering wheel in a car to a steering wheel in a bus. I find it's easier to steer strictly because you don't have to lift - it's more of a push pull now. The addition of the oilite bushings vs. the factory plastic steering bushings is a definite upgrade as well. I'm a short guy (5-7") and the bars are in a nice spot when standing and not super high while sit down riding - so they don't feel like ape hangers or anything. My friend who has a stock Apex loves the feel of my sled with the locator.

This is why I dont buy one. From what I read it raises the bars about 1-2 inches and I find the bars just a bit too high for comfortabe trail cruising sitting down. I think if I had a higher seat it would be perfect with the OFT relocator.

You will love it that's for sure .
I personally have the relocate and a 6" riser but i use totally flat bars as opposed to the crap bars the sled came with.
