I just put them in and it seems that the top threads for the nuts are different. I pulled the threads out of one of the nuts already. Wondering if anyone else has encountered this.

You didn't by any chance install them the wrong way? We have installed ARP studs on my friends Apex, no problem reusing the stock nuts torqued to 60Nm.

If you destroyed only the nut buy a new one, check the head stud threads carefully before entering the new nut onto it. Lube the threads on stud and nut with moly lube (or engine oil if that is the only lube you have at hand).

I put the end with the longer threads in the block like the directions said and like the stockers were. I actually bought a new nut and it stripped out too. I'm having one of those weeks :o|

sorry to hear :-(

Looks like ape put the wrong studs in the packaging. I removed all of the studs and the longer end that goes into the case is a smaller diameter than it should be and the top threaded end is not 10x1.25mm like it says it should be on the packaging. The threads in the block seems to be fine and I only torqued them to 15lbs before realizing I had a problem. Now I guess I'm out $50 for the new nuts I had to order from yamaha and I get to fight with APE to get a set of correct studs or get my money back. If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all.
