First off.... I know the danger of burning them up doing this, & I'm the only one who rides my Apex, and I'm smart enough to not turn them up too far, or leave them on low putting extra load on the resistor. So, I don't want any lecturing.

What I am looking for is how to do it. Where are the wires & which ones need to be changed/spliced. Pictures would be awesome too. I searched for this & came up with nothing.

Thanks for any & all help in advance.

I have had the harness hooked up since i bought the sled, maybe 200mi in or so.now i have 9000+ mi no issues! i also foamed the inside of the bars to help hold the heat.usually 2 bars will do .have had them up all the way for a few minutes ,but you will turn them down ! (HOT) my heated gloves are nice for the times when we stop and watch sleds go by taking a break..gloves will always be warm when i put them back on! Have buddies that run Rocks kit and it works ! i just keep mine original for now.

Thanks for the help guys.

After reading/skimming thru the 46 pages thread, I came to the conclusion to just order the new(er) style harness & not f^ck around cutting & splicing on my own.

It was $18 from Port Yamaha.

It will take a couple minutes ,but they will get warm or hot ! Rocks kits get warm right away!

To some this is very important/

Harness is the best approach ,cheap easy plug and play :drink:

2007 and up bars and grips with Yamaheaters is about as good as it gets. Th 06 bars have a small heated grip and the aluminum hooks suck alot of heat out of them. The full heated hooked will keep your pinky fingers warm.

This is what I used. It's a Phazer part#- http://find.partzilla.com/?r=t&q=8GK-82 ... 0+&x=0&y=0
This is where I got the info from- http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... &start=660

This is the cheap alternative. The Yamaheater is the best option.

This is EXACTLY what I did.

Can't wait to update. I have suffered long enough. I used to just put on gauntlets when it was really cold out, but they restrict movement when riding at a "brisk pace" lol.
Don't leave the setting on high. I usually run on 1 or 2 bars. 3 bars to warm up then it gets to warm. I would think things might melt if you leave it on high for to long!!

Well.... got the grips wired up.

By the time the warm-up light goes off the grips are HOT  Can't wait to ride this weekend now. :sled1:
