Jason, you can't just come on and call people idiots because they don't agree with you..you asked a question and guys are given their thoughts and opinions.....don't get all bent because not everyone is agreeing. I think what you said about adding width and lowering is a start...but eps alone won't help...geometry needs to be changed aswell...then maybe. I still think it needs more than just EPS and Geometry....getting it lowered a bit and maybe wider like you mentioned would help but then we would probably lose something somewhere else.

I am a strong person that has no problem with steering the sled. However, once you have had the opportunity to ride the Apex SE with PS, you will want it! It is not just about easier steering, it takes all the vibration out of bumpy terrain or rough cornfields that you feel up through the handlebar. IMO I believe Yamaha will probably add PS to all their models in the future whether we like it or not???????

I'm not mad in the least. Saying you don't want it is one thing. Saying it wouldn't be an improvement is another thing. Some guys don't ride fast corner to corner. They most Likely don't need eps. But if your a high speed corner to corner guy eps would be the ticket and to say it wouldn't be is flat out incorrect.

Jason, when I talked to the Yamaha rep at Novi, I asked him about EPS on the Nytro and he said did not think it would happen. He said it would be hard to make it fit with the gas tank and exhaust. There is just no room for it to make it work, unless the chassis gets changed. I would expect the Vector and Venture to get it before the Nytro.

When I'm riding trails that allow me to ride my Nytro wide open is where I think it's most comfortable. The faster you go the better the steering and handling is. Who was it that said the Nytro is like a cheap whore, It wants to be driven hard?
Where I want the EPS on my Nytro is for slower speed twisty trails.. When I'm going up to Big Bay thru the twisty's (15 to 50 mph speeds) its like driving my dad's 79 F-250 manual steering plow truck. Not that I can't do it but it'll definately wear me out. A variable EPS unit up to about 60 mph on the Nytro is something I'd love to try. Yamaha would have to build one to prove it wrong. If anyone knows of a vehicle on this planet that hasn't benefited from power steering I'd be interested in hearing about it?
EPS is awesome

Perhaps they could put it at the lower end of the steering post, instead of the upper ( the way it is on the apex)

First let me Apologize to anyone I offended. My comment was not meant to hurt anyone's feelings. Everyone who knows me knows I'm passionate about my opinions. I love my Nytro I just wish it went through the corners better.

After seeing what eps did to the apex I think the nytro needs it more. Coming off a nytro xtx & going on the apex xtx the apex actually feels lighter to ride except in real severe ditchbanging.

I love my 08 FX Nytro, but just rode my buddies new 2011 A-Cat F-8 and his new 2011 A-Cat Snow Pro 500, gotta say they turn and steer so much easier than my Nytro!! Wow, they were a blast to ride, especially in the ditches! I would like power steering, would make the Nytro a better sled!!

Take more weight out of the sled from the factory do not add more .... Apex is for the trail Nytro is for ditches and hills .... I went 4 stroke for reliability, milage and less stink - the extra weight is a trade off / compromise.
Otherwise put it as an option / accessory only.
Grizzly 550 with EPS is a dream to ride / drive compared to the 350 Big Bear without - but the Big Bear is lighter on the marshes and pulls better through the mud ... again its a trade off ... different machines for different applications.

hondavfr4ever,
I was able to ride a 2011 HCR 153 last weekend and it was one of the most comfortable riding sleds I had ever been on. The telescoping handlebars Arctic Cat have are amazing.
