Mine is much firmer than stock on my 06. I really like it! Stock seat felt like I was sitting

WRP got back to me, they are sending me replacement foam. Sucks that I'll have to spend more money getting it recovered, but I'll only do that if the new foam is firmer than the stuff in there now. I'll keep this thread updated with what I find out.

Love mine 2 inch riser on bars and your set. I have always noticed that first thing in the morning seat is firm. Add some bumps and a little heat from exhuast and my butt for friction and the foam begins to settle a bit. The difference is im starting at least 2 inches higher with the wrp. 300 miles on mine and 15 on my buddys 06 apex and we both agreed it was a nice improvement.

My biggest problem with the foam stiffness like I said is that I bottom out on the Styrofoam piece on bad bumps and get a sore behind at the end of the day. This is on relatively good trails so far this year. I have the apex mountain riser on mine with another 2.5" on top of that courtesy of lake effect.

- Bought a new 05 Vector which I still have
24K miles
Now I think I'm thankful that WRP doesn't make a seat for my sled. I want firmer than stock...not softer.

Well after a little investigation and insight from Marc at WRP, my seat was missing the extra foam insert, he is sending one out tomm. I only pulled staples out of one side of my finished seat and think I can side in the additional foam block that was missing from order. If you pull your seat off and look in the holes under the tabs(these tabs slide under fuel tank) that hold seat on, you can see the void that is allowing seat to compress the extra 3" you originally bought the seat to gain. Hope this helps..

That's unfortunate as it means the foam they are sending me probably isn't any firmer. I'm aware of the foam block and my seat definitely has that installed, that is what I'm hitting with my butt on big bumps. I can push with my hands all the way through the seat cushion and feel the styrofoam block. My new foam was shipped out today so I'll update when I receive it on if it is any firmer.

Man I hope it fixes mine, and your foam is stiffer when it shows up, This shouldn't be so difficult, Boss made tons of seats exactly what were looking for before they went ugly. I told Marc that his company has a posted thread on this forum and he might want to get involved.

So the 06-10 WRP foams come in 2 pieces?? What is the purpose of that? The WRP on my 12 Apex is perfect. Here is a pic of the stock and WRP foams.

I believe the 06-10 Apex WRP seat was based on the apex mountain seat, which has the styrofoam block insert on the bottom of the foam against the seat pan. Non-MTX apex's have foam the entire thickness of the seat, no styrofoam block. Therefore for those of us with a non-MTX apex, we need to add the block in addition to the new WRP foam to mimic the MTX seat.

I would say its a little firmer. The WRP material has alot more grip so no more slipping around.

They sent me the missing wedge for under the seat pan, I removed staples from just one side of seat and had help sliding the wedge under foam. Diffentley better but seat really could use a better grade foam instead of some Styrofoam chunks for support. Just saying.. If they ever stepped up their game it could be best upgrade to lots of sagging seat low riders out there. When I sell machine I will pull seat and put on my spare apex stock seat for that sale. Way happier now, But hate to see a manufacture have these stupid issues that could cost them customers when it really doesn't need to be, Just use a better foam. Problem solved..

- Which one? I have 6
Interesting thread. I am considering getting a new seat for my Apex XTX. The additional 2" would make a world of a difference because of the high mileage I put on and the hip to knee height. Are there any other aftermarket seat manufacturers? Maybe I should just take the seat to an upholsterer and get them to install the extra height with a new sitting patch on the original seat cover.
