Nice install video Biff using the OEM cover. It can be done.
Thanks Skip, I noticed there were two WRP threads on here. I posted in the other.
I think it turned out pretty damn good! Let me know if anyone needs a stock seat foam!

Hey Biff - did you do anything special for the shipping rate you got? Mines coming to Wisconsin, but it is 3 times as much for shipping as yours was. I'm ordering it no matter what, just curious if that extra distance should make that big of a cost difference.

Hit him up for the same rate as I never asked for a group discount being first to order.

He gave me the same $140 cost as you for the seat, and said he was charging me the exact cost for shipping. I could see it being more seeing as it's coming farther, but wasn't thinking it would be $60. When I place the order I'll see what he says - doesn't hurt to ask.
Thanks - Nice install vid too!

Good luck. My guess is he shot in the dark and estimated my shipping and ate the overage. It’s not just the weight, but the massive size of the box. As it’s not overly heavy

I love my WRP but I was unable to use my stock seat cover... it was just a little too small... I also put a heat demon seat pad in so heated seat for me!!!
One thing you all might want to consider is a lake effects pivot riser... it is the perfect match to the extra height of the seat... I’m 5’11” and now can comfortly ride standing up on my ‘12 Apex Xtx
Mileage Quest do you have an older or newer Apex that you couldnt fit the stock cover? I have an 07 and need a WRP but would prefer to use my stock cover.

So quick report back, I got around 250 miles on the seat this past week. It's surprising as with the 2.5" riser, it now feels normal, which is what I was going for. I don't feel like I have ape hangers on for handlebars. My knees are bent comfortably, and my arms are parallel with the ground. I love it.
I am finding I was sliding forward a bit more. So the new seat cover may have cured that as the factory cover is a bit slippery. Especially with a touch of snow or frost as expected.
All in all, a great investment!
Good luck guys

WRP snowmobile seat line has been sold to Seat Concepts. I ordered the new foam and cover from Seat Concepts back in January and now that the season is finally over I got around to having it installed on the stock seat pan. I took it to a local upholsterer who does motorcycle, snowmobile and boat seats. He used stainless steel staples and put it together. Came out fantastic. The stock seat foam is too soft, too low and the stock cover is too slippery allowing the rider to slide toward the bars to0 easily. The new seat foam is 2" taller and has a styrofoam block molded into the foam to maintain firmness while raising the rider up so that his knees are lower than his hips which aids in the transition from sitting to standing. If you look at the stock seats on the new Ski-Doo's, Polaris and Arctic Cat's you'll see they have done the same thing. Yamaha never upgraded their seats to this new design. A big mistake and most assuredly lost customers to the competition. So you have to do it yourself. Contact Seat Concepts and order the kit. Worth every penny. https://seatconcepts.com It's best to call and order the kit over the phone. Their website doesn't have any snowmobile information as they are really oriented toward the motorcycle market.

Looks like a nice job done! Wait till you ride with it on, it's amazing for sure. There is a reason why owners rave about this upgrade. It's a tough nut to swallow as far as cost, but so easily justified once you ride it.
Too bad you have to wait till December to get some seat time on it. Nice work!

I didn't want to lose any seat time by taking it to an upholsterer during the riding season. Turns out, I drop it off on a Friday morning and tell him "no rush" and I get a call on Saturday telling me it's ready to be picked up. Go figure.

I just bought and put a WRP seat on my 06 Rage this past summer, glad I did get one before they sold the seat biz off. I went to the new companys site and very limited on snowmobile seats.
Anyway I love my sled with the new WRP seat and raised handlebars. I raised mine 5 inches and extended/replaced cables to allow that. Its very comfortable like this, I can easily stand up and not feel crouched over while standing. The new Star Wars shaped sleds are crap to work on, this sled with a flip up hood and removable side panels makes doing work simple and quick to get at.
