Could be the case with mine, the traction off trail has been good but on trail it just won't hook unless conditions are perfect. I'd love to give the Ice cobra a try as the lugs are thicker but they don't make a 141" version though I could go 144" swap. The Freeride (stiff lug 1.5") on my Phazer has 8000 miles on it and not a single missing lug, a few small chunks, and just the tips are rounded off. 2000 miles on my viper and the lugs are folding over, a bunch are cracked at the base, and 3 missing lugs.My own thought on track and sled damage, how a rider drives the sled. There are many times when spinning the track is not a good idea. If your paying attention to the surface your riding on, sometimes spinning the track could cause damage to the lugs or worse. Marginal conditions with sharp rocks poking through, banked road crossings and a lot of other situations that are probably more to blame for track damage than the track itself.
Just a thought.

Hmmm
I have the 141 1.3 cobra and like it on all but ICE so considering studding- but my Viper is already to slow for my liking so to loose a couple more MPH top end is keeping me indecisive.
BUT I ride in MN where there is very rarely deep snow and almost 100% groomed trail. Maybe thats why I like it and you dont.
Where did you purchase it from? Id like a shorter lug like yours. We only trail ride. Just picked up a 15 XTX yesterday for my gf

That track is stock on the 141 STX-DX and a few tour style cats. Available only from Cat/Yami dealers as Cat has exclusive rights to most of the 141" tracks on the market.
