Has anyone put mostly trail miles on their xtx say like 5-700 miles of seat time, overall opinion good or bad as in ride comfort ,handling etc. Looking at different sleds, hard decion on what to get, LTX. XTX or Renegade 137

I love my XTX but I only have 300 miles on it. Track is a bit much for trails worrying about hyfax melting. I have 141 studs in mine with 8" square bar and it darts and pushes some. Better snow and it may be different. Just put 8" doolys on that I'll try this week. Comfort is really nice, I don't feel beat up after riding. If your going to do just trail I'd go with LTX. I trail ride then go off ditch banging.
XTX is fine for trail riding but I would invest on a set of ice scratchers. Lot's of people ride the 1.6 cobra track with no issues. No concern there. You will get a little more push on an XTX but it's fine for trail riding. If you are riding an older sled, you will think it's excellent....however an LTX WILL handle better in the trails. You may not notice too much until you rode them back to back. The XTX suspension is more fun to play around and transfers better but sacrifices some on trail smoothness.
I rode NosPros sled back to back with my 129 and yes it was in powder loose trails but I honestly was very surprised at how well it rode and handled. If I did off trail other than ditches I would have one for sure since it did very well on the trails also.

It kinda depends upon how/where you do the majority of your riding.......the XTX has an uncoupled rear suspension and will be easier to lift the nose whether you mean to or not......the purpose being to be able to get on top of deeper snow better......it will also give a little more inside ski lift when cornering hard.....that can be addressed with a little more rider body "English"..........as to the 1.6" track on trails......I've been running that Cobra track on my 136" RS Nytro for 3 seasons now without problems......but then we are in the central U.P. so lack of snow cover is almost never an issue....

Just got up to 500 miles on my xtx and I mostly ride trails and I love it, all stock so far, just putting some scratchers on the skis to help when on the the hard pack trails

Thanks Steve, I would have to say I love my XTX for trail and off-trail. Had to do some suspension tuning, but I got it to rail in corners, transfer and hook on the straights and perform in the deep stuff.

Ive got a few miles on mine now, and I will say, I am very happy with the handling of the xtx. I was worried about the uncoupled suspension and handling, but couldn't be happier.
Last night took it out and rode the tight and twisty's here around home and honestly had a blast. It handled all the trail chitter, the bigger bumps, and the turns pretty darn good. And when you venture off trail, she hooks!!
I have owned about every yamaha four stroke in one variation or another, and this by far is my favorite.... although the power of the apex was pretty cool!!!

How did you set up your suspension to get it to corner better?

Here is the link to how my XTX is set up.

It works awesome and even with the stock skis. I am going to try 130 in the rear float to see about keeping the skis down a little bit.

I am just shy of 1000 miles on ine and it gets better every ride. With simmons flex skis and 32" of carbide up front it steers harder than an Apex pre power steering but i have gotten rid of most of the push. There is no darting and I am confident sticking the nose in deep and powering through the corner.
There is a bit of ski lift on hard packed groomed trails but it is not overwhelming. My hands hurt from the steering effort but I am building them up so hoping another week or 2 and will not notice it.
Off trail and across the Flowage in deep stuff running 95 miles an hour and can lift the nose anytime i hit the throttle is fun. Running from Mercer to Hurley on the grade it wa 2' chop about 8' apart you can ride it standing or sitting wide open and it just dances across the tops and is very stable. with a bad back I can stand and ride 30 or 40 miles nonstop.

I have 900km of trail riding with my XTX and it ride very good! Turn akmost like on rails and weight tranfert is just good.
Like Yamadog said the steering effort is the worst thing about it. For both stock and C&A XTX skis.
I also rode an LTX and the steering effort is so easy, Night and day difference. I think the center keel height make the difference. I mesured 3/4" for the LTX ski, and 1" for both Yamaha XTX and C&A XTX skis.
Would still like to ride an 129" to see how good that thing should handle on the twisties!!

I put some yamaha plastic skis on my sons older phazer 2 ,it turned so hard, cut down the keel on ski, steered way lighter and easier, time to get out sawzall and cut down the keel
