2011 Nytro XTX
I have a 2011 XTX and was wondering if the hyfax wear is less severe vs the short tracks due to a more shallow angle in the front rail area. Or is it about the same.

I put 2900 miles on my first set of hyfax on my 09 Nytro RTX SE, 121". I run my track loose and have the preload on the front spring very loose also.

That's impressive...I needed 3 sets of sliders my first year (1500 km)...ended up installing larger idler wheels last year and I didn't need to change it since (3000 km). I have an RTX SE.

I've only got a couple hundred miles on it so far. Wear is minimal. I was just curious if the short tracks are prone to faster wear.

You know, they wear down to just above the wear line right away, then just stay there for a long, long time.
I only changed mine because we were going on a trip with very marginal conditions. They could have gone longer but I didn't want to chance it.

Where do they normally wear. Mine are wearing netween the two bogy wheels.

wtf

BurrRidge,
you gotta start riding that thing in snow!!
i have 400 miles on my hyfax and they barely show any wear except by the front shock, and that should now be fixed thanks to the new excell big wheels on the inside location.
what types of conditions are you riding in??

Mine wear evenly all the way down the rail.

Its been a bad winter so far here in Pennsylvania. We've only had around a foot to foot and a half of snow and the trails are pounded down pretty bad.
