So I am going to date myself here. I was a Ford technician. Starting in the late 70"s. I returned in the early 90"s. Ford sent Yamaha a 3.0 L V6 small block to Yamaha. And asked them to build a performance engine around it. Yamaha said no thanks. We will build the whole engine. Thus the creation of the SHO Taurus. I noticed a few years after that Ford came out with a new engine the modular V8 4.6L? Why do I bring this up. Because in my experience back in the day. The reliability of the Yamaha engine started to show up in the American engine. I want the American manufacturers to achieve this. We have the capability. But if not then let's hope for a new Japan built sled. My green new deal. Lol. Why am I ranting because I am tired of my wife watching the other guys new 2 Strokes passing us on the trails. And because they burn cleaner now. And our Single shot shot suspensions suck. She tells me I think we bought the wrong sleds!

I agree the capability is there but the greed ruins it. Just look into the Cannondale MX and ATV story. They were way ahead of even the Japanese in technology by 15 years but small reliability issues and big investors shut them down and sold whole thing to China. Even the bicycle division. Arctic Cat is about in the same position and I see Yamaha buying them as thier only hope and ours too. After Textron will be a holding company and then it's the end of Cat again.
