not he to stir the pot.
i currently own a 2005 rev 800x ptec. 4000 miles 2 sets plugs
no issues. 2 rev prior. ring problems on one. fairly happy.
just purchased a 150 yamaha
fourstroke outboard. very happy.
am considering a apex attak. what issues have here been? frames?warmers?electical? wheels? skid? any an all input would be appreciated.
i only wish for constuctive input please.please no bashing.

thanks in advance.

the only issue i've had in 500 miles is the Warmers are very average. I don't hate them but they aren't as good as the previous Yamaha's I've owned.

other then that the sled is flat out awesome

I just sold a 600 GSX Limited and have an 06 Attak.

Rev was better in the rough stuff and tight trails but not by a whole bunch, in all other areas the Attak excels. Rev gets 5 MPG more with same riding, both riding positions were fine with me for 150+ mile rides, tailbone hurts a little more with Attak but that is age.

Attak problems, grips could be hotter and being addressed as rear wheel problem due to vendor issues. Yamaha skis suck but so do the DOO's.

Prefer the Attak as you can get further back on seat , can do on Rev also but lose control if not right up to cowl sitting. GSX has best storage in the business and you can feel the weight difference, not a lot but it is there.

Now engines there is no comparison, the SDI was phenominal for a 2 stroke but no comparison to the 4 stroke.

If all you ride is rough tight trails the REV but if you ride mixed terrain and wide open trails/fields than the Attak is better. By the way I put 1.25" Ripsaw and Slydog skis on GSX, same as I have on Attak.

Both great sleds just for different riding styles. Hope it helps.

thanks

good honest reply. thank you.my problem is . im 53 like ditches but am starting to slow down. i have a 1 1/4 rip on my sled now . very happy
i am worried about some of the posts i have seen. track clips, tracks,
rear skid cracks?

Dan, if you are a responsible guy that takes care of his stuff and ride it where it's suppose to be ridden you will absolutely love an Attak :yam:

Warmers suck, rear idlers are junk, but are replaced under warranty, so not a big deal. YOu may need the optional heavier spring. other than that, it's an awesome sled. I sold my REV 800 for it and it was well worth it and I am not looking back.....

Yes there have been a few bent tunnels, Yamaha is working on adding an additional brace in the rear of the tunnel, the amount of problems so far with this is miniscule. I can only speak from my experience, did I love the REV, hell yes but it is a young guys machine to derive the full benefits. If you like the concept of the Mach the Attak is way better in all around use.

This video was made by one of the testers at DOOTALK and is highly respected for his honest reviews.

J D I came off a 04 600 sdi and I feel I get better ride on the attak. I can put 200 miles on it a day with no problem but not with the Doo. I was always sore. Better in tight trails ,I agree. I,m 63. BEST ride I have ever had.

If you listen to all of the negatives that are posted on the internet.......you would never ride anything.I'm sure there not perfect, but neither is anything else.I know i read every post on this site

.......and i will be riding a blue attak next winter.
A lot of these problems are isolated....and some are human error. you have to read between the lines on the internet. That's how i see it anyway.
