I have a 1997 Yamaha Kodiak that has sat for 2-3 years, trying to revive the 4 wheeler, The brakes are in poor condition, I have bled the front brakes several times but after building pressure in the brakes the lever goes soft after only a few seconds, I have not looked at the pads yet, figuring that even if the pads were bad the system should hold pressure, do not see any leaks anywhere either, Help????? Brian

drum or disc on front?
drums take a lot of bleeding and if the cylinders are stiff/sized they might be causing the soft you are feeling.
there are also slide pins on the calipers that seize as well when they sit a lot.
