Do not post links to pay sites... you have to pay to read that PDF and they are not authorized by Yamaha to even post those recalls. If you become a VIP you will be able to see those Tech Bulletins.

Does this apply to the 08's, or is it something with the 09 front end?
you guys beat me to it. my upper left one was loose. I noticed it pulling out of the gas station the a arm was jiggling all over the place. you can get in there with 1/4" ratchet and 14mm deep socket. that's what I did. but when I get back home the bumper and plastic are coming off so I can loctite blue every thing.

I carry a bottle of locktite for these situations, also the small disposable packets work great and can fit in any coat pocket. Never know when ya might need it.

blue loctilte? Wouldn't you want to use red loctite on all these lose nut n bolt issue's?

when you need to change out the bushing or worse and need it off....red will be a drag...blue done right is all it needs...
my sled is a new 09' but for the hell of it I removed the three nose screws and was able to fit a 3/8" ratchet inside and tightened it a bit...after the first rides I'll yank it off tho....

Mine came out last year as well. I too wrecked both a-arms subframe and shock. All repaired under warranty. My sled only had 500 miles on it at the time.

I just received my official recall notice today. It states that the upper bolt must be removed and thread lock agent applied and reinstalled to proper torque. The Dealer will have to store the snowmobile for 24 hours at room temperature before performing the mod. This only applies to the upper right A-arm bolt.
According to Yamaha, the root of the problem was that the bolt was initially tightened against a burr left on the bracket during manufacturing. The burr then collapses so the bolt is no longer tightened with proper torque, thus unthreading can occur.

I am heading up tomorrow for a weekend of riding...long story but, my friend hauled my sled up for me today in my trailer. I will check them when I get up there but, could someone tell me what I need for tools? ratchet, 14MM socket 6 inch extesion etc etc
Thanks.
Thanks.

You need a large philips screw driver to loosen the nose cone and then a ratchet with I believe it was a 14 mm. I didn't use an extension.

The service manual I have states that you should torque it to 32 ft.lbs, but that is for an 08 sled...can't tell you if it's changed for the 09s.
Definitely take a ratchet with 14mm socket, don't know what length extension though.
